7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI became legal guardian of my niece and nephew when they were 7 and 9 yrs old. They both attended Murphy Elementary School. The youngest (my nephew) had a lot of problems in school as a result of the severe parental neglect he suffered as a child. The teachers and administrators were very helpful to my nephew and to me. Great school!Parent Review13y ago - Haslett Middle School

"Nothing, my community is very average for East Lansing. Mostly students, some adults that have lived here for a long time. The apartment walls are thin, kids are dumb, and everything is within walking distance."

"The neighborhood has become very seedy, especially after the city cut down most of the large trees that made this place special. Trees add value to properties and they take decades to replace. I'm looking to leave East Lansing soon!"

"I walk to work at MSU. It’s wonderful summer, spring and fall. Winter is often beautiful as well. The sidewalks in most of our area are well cared for. Although, in student rental areas are iffy. There are lots of people walking almost everyday. If I drive, it takes me 5 minutes door to door."
