8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI don't know what everyone else is talking about, but it would have been better for me to not go to school at all than to have gone here. I have some academic strengths, but also have some learning difficulties. Many of the teachers here, even the "good" ones, willingly ignored my difficulties, going as far as to humiliate me in front of the entire class when I couldn't live up to their expectations. Even worse, they would encourage other students in the class to join them in humiliating me. Those teachers also told my parents that I willingly not keeping up with the work, and my parents automatically believed them.I tried to explain to my teachers about my learning difficulties but they wrote me off as looking for excuses. Yet recently, I was genetically tested, and found genetic evidence for those difficulties. I am almost 26 years old and barely getting by, and still have flashbacks of my time here. My biggest regret was not just failing all my classes and dropping out.Other Review5y ago - Pinecrest School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePros: More diversity than you would expect in EL + they seem to serve kids with special needs well. Cons: My kids are not special needs, and are not challenged. RE: bullying: I have seen some teachers coddle bullies. I get some kids bully bc of tough home life, but they must find balance between compassionate caring without enabling. ps. There is a comment earlier in here about white bullies. The bullies my kids have face were not white, so a different experience with that, I guess.Parent Review6y ago - Macdonald Middle School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averageif hell was real it would be this school constant fights bullying yelling stressing gun threats fires bomb threats i don’t recommend this school to any parents/ guardians picking a school for their children my child comes home everyday sad telling me how some kid got beat up or he got threatened to get beat up in 2023 alone they have had so many off days if they have 2 more they go into overtime (summer school) to make up for those missed days please pick a different school all the teachers are also incredibly disrespectful to kids and adults.Parent Review11mo ago - Check out schools near 1282 Chartwell Carriage Way N.

"Nothing, my community is very average for East Lansing. Mostly students, some adults that have lived here for a long time. The apartment walls are thin, kids are dumb, and everything is within walking distance."

"The neighborhood has become very seedy, especially after the city cut down most of the large trees that made this place special. Trees add value to properties and they take decades to replace. I'm looking to leave East Lansing soon!"

"I walk to work at MSU. It’s wonderful summer, spring and fall. Winter is often beautiful as well. The sidewalks in most of our area are well cared for. Although, in student rental areas are iffy. There are lots of people walking almost everyday. If I drive, it takes me 5 minutes door to door."
