4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school treats honor students the best, if you make good grades you won't experience the nightmare that all other students do.I graduated with a 3.5 GPA and some of the teachers are great, others don't care about their students at all and will pretend to care in the company of "important" authority figures, but then behind your back will cause your downfall.I had a decent experience here, but it was only due to a select few of the teachers. Namely: Haley Dawley, Andrew Dunham (retired), and Ashley Knaffle. These people genuinely cared about me and my success, and I feel that they take their job seriously as educators.Everyone else I had a dim or non-existent relationship with. I wanted my siblings to have as good an exerience as I did, but unfortunately that's not the case. However, I have been very pleased with our experience at East Elementary School. Teachers are supportive and willing to provide chances for enrichment - another aspect I was worried about due to the lack of funding for gifted education in Michigan. "There's plenty of green space but there are a lot of cars that drive fast in the neighborhood. There's also lots of sidewalks and the area is pretty quiet which is really nice"

"I live on B Street. Ther is the Soft Ball fields, Rec Center, Ice Rink, Foot Bridge to Downtown, Restaurants, Shopping, children's park with swings & slides, Beaches & Schools all located very near (within walking distance for all). I believe there is one taxi for the town and the Straits Area Bus but, a bicycle would work just as well! Crime is low, the whole down town is all free parking. NO parking meters at all! There are plenty of activities to keep everyone busy. Lots of town gatherings thru out the year. Really a fun town all in all. It's a great place for families with or without children, singles, couples, & retirees."
