One of Ann Arbor's landmark properties, this grand mansion was constructed in 1917 of hand-hewn quarried granite in the Swiss Chalet style. Past the wide front terrace is a home of gracious proportions. Steel casement windows lend natural light to the rooms. The large living room has a fireplace, oak floors and high ceilings defined by wide moldings. French doors open to a three-season room with the distinctive stone wall along one side. The formal dining room with fireplace, is served by a butler's pantry and large kitchen. On the second floor are 4 bedrooms, including an expansive master suite with fireplace, sleeping porch, and bath. The third floor has the 5th and 6th bedrooms, 2 baths, and a library. The property was acquired by a church in 1946, whereupon a building was added as a pa parsonage. Later, mid-century architect George Brigham designed a large addition to the main house. More recently, the home became a bed and breakfast. The parsonage was transformed with a sitting and 7 bedroom suites, each with a fireplace and bath. The principal doesn't even respond to emails or phone calls. The teachers are nice and seem to genuinely care about the kids. If the administration fails, how can the school function? N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePrincipal Fenech is caring, competent, involved, just wonderful. Teachers have all been attentive and caring. As an IDT, it can be hard to fit in because the neighborhood kids bond easily outside of school, whereas it’s a struggle for transfer kids. Playgrounds are great. Great emphasis on physical activity. 6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is amazing! The community is great, the teachers are supportive, the admins are excellent! My experience has been nothing but outstanding! I would 100% recommend TMS! There are great course offerings (ie 4 languages, band, orchestra, choir, music tech, multiple PLTW courses, visual art classes, advanced math offerings, and others), many great clubs (ex. GSA, Newspaper Club, Yearbook Club, Graphic Design & Apparel, Tutoring, and many more! Tappan also has many sports teams, including basketball, soccer, track, cross country, synchronized and competitive swimming, baseball, softball, tennis, and others! 2 things I would like to correct from the above page are: a) we have a new principal, Dr. Tyese Parnell, as Dr Heyward has taken a new job in AAPS, b) while the only music options available for 6th & 7th grade are band, orchestra, and choir, Jazz Band is also offered in 8th grade, andc) we actually have 4 world language courses - German, French, Spanish, and Latin.Student Review1y ago - Huron High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur kids never felt like they “had” to go to school @Huron. They understood and felt comfortable with going to school. The school explains very well the personal needs & goals they were trying to accomplish. All my kids were able to explain their goals & options. They teach a “worldly” view instead of only a “book” view which helped them want to learn. The staff is attentive & suppoettive to any changes with grades & never let grades to keep going down without intervention and offering help. As many kids as they have, it shows how good they are knowing many other schools with way less kids dont care if that happens until grades are failing.Parent Review1y ago

"Easy Access To UofM And St. Joe Hospitals. Walk To Whole Foods, Restaurants And Shopping across the road. Located on AATA Bus Route. Bike/Walk trails along Huron Parkway lead to Gallup Park with Boat Rentals on the Huron River, Golf Course, and Huron High School and sports fields."
