5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf you don't have to do not send your children to this school. A few of the teachers actually care about the students but the rest could care less. The administrators are terrible when it comes to communication. The school lacks organization. My child's senior prom and senior events were poorly planned and I feel the student dues were missed managed. We never received their class shirts, but they definitely took the money. Do not send your children to this school.Parent Review6mo ago - Scotts Branch Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageReally don't like the school or the staff the. Principle is lazy does want to do anything a teacher grab my son and they tried to hide the incident! Not happy with the school at all!Parent Review9y ago - Northwest Academy of Health Sciences

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNorthwest is the Medical Career Magnet School for the county, is also the zone school for this the area. Do not be mislead by the title MAGNET. The majority of the zone students coming out of elementary schools unable to get into magnet programs of their choice is a factor. That's important to remember because the MAP measurements could be skewed to read better because of the presents of magnet students, or worst because there isn't enough of them to carry the school over the expected percentage of what would be considered an institution of the highest degree of well educated students, as expected for a suburban middle school. Diversity is getting worst...not better. The involuntary segregation is really no ones fault by design. The area is primarily made up of middle income parents doing well enough to have a home, or apartment in the area, but have better plans for their funds such as a college education, moving to another house, or a really great retirement. BCPS is stuck on a model that keeps the students from realizing small joys such things as a choice. Northwest does it's best to teach all students the required format for middle school, but in my opinion BCPS could do more to support the students at this school. The so-called magnet lottery is not fair draw- don't have direct proof...just a feeling. Teachers everywhere are being under paid, schools are under staff (preferred level). Keep the faith that, All will come out alright for the student. Like the future, the work is their responsibility.Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 3718 Pinelea Rd.

"it's low income housing which I'm moving soon , but it's not unique at all it's the struggle low poverty area they try to maintain it but if u ask me I think everyone here should be directed elsewhere where and be forced to work and be self sufficient the people here are carefree have no real means to do better outside of myself. I do not recommend this area to no one and the violence has escalated "
