7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is our second year at Piney Point and both our children love it. They have both grown confidently, academically and socially, since they started going to this school. Also, the staff and the teachers are really amazing they work hard to make sure your kids are living up to there potential. Love Love Love this school and can't say enough good things.Parent Review6y ago - Spring Ridge Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is a disgrace I couldn’t even put my daughter in there for 2 days without being bullied and the teachers did NOTHING. She reported the bullying to the counselor multiple times all the counselor said “I’ll report this to the head principal”. I explained to them kindly that if nothing was done about this that I will be going to the Board of Education. Nothing I said would help my daughter she would go to school and come back DIRTY. She told me that she went to the counselor to show the messages that were shared with her, which were threats. And the counselor said she cannot deal with internet drama. That’s when I instantly popped off because my daughter should be able to go to school safely. This is honestly so sad the teachers don’t attempt to do anything about the situation. They put my daughter in the same class as the bullies I even had to leave my job because they put their hands on her. In conclusion, if you have enough money to send your child to a private school I would recommend. THIS SCHOOL IS HORRIBLE.Parent Review2mo ago - Leonardtown High School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf you are in the top 5% of your class they actually teach your children and encourage them to come to school, if you are an average student or are not taking a varsity sport to a regional championship you can come, but they really don't want you there. I have my third student at Leonardtown High School and their experience has been very different from my first two students. The first two were average students, with excellent behavior, who were never shown any encouragement or care the entire time they were there. My third student is continuously encouraged to do everything and is fully supported by the school, but this child excels academically and athletically. I knew the disparity existed, but until I was able to fully actualize the difference in treatment I did not realize how much my first two students missed out on and just how marginalized they were. The school is a pressure cooker and the only thing worse than how the students treat one another is how the staff treats the kids who are not out there making the school shine at the state level. The coaches can treat players that are not D1 bound horribly and are 100% backed up by an athletic director that only cares about the facilities and barely interacts with the athletes. The drug culture is in full effect but they pretend it doesn't exist. We just got an email last week alerting us to the fact that there have been way too many fights and acts of violence this year. In addition, the water at the school is currently contaminated with e-coli and no one can wash their hands or drink the water. So how they have a 9/10 rating is beyond me.Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 20215 Flat Iron Rd.

"Large lots that separate homes and create privacy. Old and new neighborhoods down flat iron. No sidewalks and no place to walk "

"The dog park in the neighborhood. well lit areas and friendly neighbors. They might not like that it's a small community. "

"Great Mills MD is sandwiched between MD section 8 housing left over from the late 1980s gentrification of the Baltimore projects. Theft and vandalism is rampant. Drivers are outright hostile. Weekly door knockers pose as home security salesmen with clearly uninsured personal vehicles. Mail is contracted out and frequently opened or packages damaged. "

"This neighborhood is like 90% parents with small children, plenty of friends to make around here. Very safe. Nice online community."
