"This area is very dog friendly but the HOA rules are strict a about leashing your dogs at all times, cleaning up after them and sometimes they can even dictate how many you own."

"I grew up here and watched the decline of the neighborhood. It seems to be trying to become a better area but falls short each attempt. "

"Lots of dog owners in the area. Everyone seems to welcome them. Would love to see the open space given a dedicated dog area though."

"Parts of Essex are beautiful. Lots of waterfront properties, well maintained neighborhoods, woods and parks. The rest of Essex is terrible. Its turning into Baltimore City. "

"I don't plan to stay living here for too much longer. It's a great place to live if you are low on funds. There is easy access to shopping (a lot within walking distance) and public transportation. "

"I grew up here and raised my family here. I know many neighbors and their families. Driving is very easy to commute to the airport, Baltimore Stadiums and Inner Harbor. Washington DC is only 60 miles away. "

"I've lived in this neighborhood for about 8 years. Some of the neighbors are quite friendly, others keep to themselves, others are rather obnoxious. I've rarely felt unsafe around my house and our children play outside with minimum supervision. It's economically and culturally diverse. It's a great place to live that is semi-decent and quite affordable."

"Drug dealers are friendly and don't take offense when you say you're not interested. There's always parking because the tow trucks get people the first of the month when their registrations expire or if they have flat tires. Lots of overpriced homes for sale because no one wants to pay for a home in a community where your next door neighbor is renting out to section 8. I guess rich people don't want to live next to poor people or they just got richer and moved to even more exclusive communities. Theres lots of water in many of the communities. Its nice to see kids playing in the water on shopping carts and old tires getting cooled off from the summer sun. People love pets in the community it's nice they're trying to rehabilitate vicious pitbulls every dog needs live even if they've attacked a kid or two. There used to be a fence stopping people with guns from running out into the street shooting into cars. They removed the fence making it easier to run up to cars and shoot inside at the drivers. This has helped cut down on the noise from loud radios. We now live in a community without barriers. This let's the neighborhood walk right up to my windows and doors. It's great to see neighbors checking to see if I have securely locked my homes windows and doors through my security camera. "
