5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMany teachers wait until the last week of the quarter to grade anything. Literally nothing graded the entire quarter until the last minute. Nobody knows what their grade is. They’re charging kids to join clubs now (but not saying what that money is being used for) and are allowing football players with terrible grades into the honor society yet denying many with perfect or very good grades. Typical favoritism to sports kids. Takes a month to get in to meet with your counselor.Students have to pay for parking? Ridiculous. This is a 2 out of 5 star school. Maybe 2.5 tops.Other Review2mo ago - Bellows Spring Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI feel this is one of the worst experiences with Howard County school system. My son went here from 4th to 5th grade and by 5th grade I couldn’t get away fast enough. There are palpable biases present when dealing with the receptionist to the Special Education Teacher for students of color as well as their parents.Parent Review11mo ago - Mayfield Woods Middle School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is actually not too bad. After reading many other reviews, I have seen how many parents/guardians see this school. However, as a 7th grade student I share a different view. The teachers aren't too bad, though they give a lot of homework and become pretty prickly towards the end of the year. Their view starts to shorten towards the end just like the students. Though many teachers give very big and hard assignments at the same time with only 2 days to complete them. And though I understand that teachers have lives outside of school, so do the students. I have many after school activities to juggle and the amount and length of the schoolwork does not help. Though I must cut some teachers some slack, they aren't all bad. Many teachers have readied me for high school and they all leave some sort of lasting impact on my learning. There are fights and bullying incidents generally often, but they never get too out of hand. The staff are pretty good with catching the fights early, keeping kids away, and intercepting the fights. Bullying isn't really treated as a priority, and though they constantly wave the no bullying flag, when it is reported it is kind of shunned. Though this is only my personal experience. The school is a bit obsessed with the idea of both ethnic and sexual orientation diversity. Though even as a white female, I have been bullied for my race before, and I have seen others be bullied for the same reason. If you took the time to read this review, I sincerely thank you for listening to my personal story and experience at Mayfield Woods.Other Review10mo ago - Check out schools near 6329 Arbor Way.

"There are dog parks near by. They have a lot of trails, more then enough parks. Everyone has a dog so your furry friend will have lots of friends to play with. Trust me you will love the area. But be mindful of ticks and all those creepy creatures. Howard county in general is very wooded, but still a great place to have a dog."
