3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis will be my second year at Featherbed. I don't love it and I don't hate it. Our Teacher for Kindergarten was a good teacher, but a little rude with some of the children sometimes. I feel like the school focuses more on Math (Yes I know its a STEM school) and leaves all of the reading to be taught at home, which is fine for parents like myself who get to stay home, but the majority of our community are full time working parents. We did have a bully problem already and my daughter had a hard time going to her teacher to say something because the school makes a big deal about not being a tattle tale and even punish the kids for telling, and at a Kindergarten age they can't tell the difference between what they should say and what they shouldn't. On a positive note I can tell that some of the older grade teachers really love being there and that makes me hopeful that things will be better in the years to come.Parent Review10y ago - Woodlawn Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has been beautifully renovated. Administration is responsive and supportive. The principal is active and accessible. Woodlawn has a lot of hidden gems with new programs, sports teams, and staff. So much has improved here in recent years.Parent Review9mo ago - Check out schools near 6430 Gilmore St.

"it's low income housing which I'm moving soon , but it's not unique at all it's the struggle low poverty area they try to maintain it but if u ask me I think everyone here should be directed elsewhere where and be forced to work and be self sufficient the people here are carefree have no real means to do better outside of myself. I do not recommend this area to no one and the violence has escalated "
