Price Improvement! - Once in a lifetime opportunity in Roland Park - available for the first time in seventy-five years, this enchanting home has been cherished by the same family for multiple generations. Impeccably maintained by the best contractors in the area, it is now ready to start a new chapter, where the future owners have a chance to personalize it as they like and begin making their own memories. Strategically nestled at the end of the cul-de-sac in the heart of Roland Park, the location offers loads of privacy, and no through traffic. Enter this elegant brick and stucco home through the double glass front doors into the interior vestibule. The main floor offers a welcoming foyer, which leads to a formal dining room, and a formal living room both featuring wood burning fireplaces. The center hall features high wainscotting. The original pocket doors to the living room and the dining room are both operable. The kitchen boasts a 48” GE Monogram 6 burner gas stove with built-in griddle, a Kitchen-aid recessed refrigerator with ice maker and a GE Monogram dishwasher and tile floors. The Victorian Servants Bell Call box located in the kitchen is intact and functioning if you are fortunate enough to have a maid or butler. Off of the kitchen, you’ll find access to back porch with walk-in cold storage closet. A traditional butler’s pantry is located between the kitchen and the dining room and features built-in glass-front cabinets and half bath. Off the living room, a spacious sunroom features ceramic tile floors with radiant heat, for year-round comfort. The sunroom opens to the front patio, perfect for outdoor dining and entertaining, and it also has a doorway and stairs to the terraced-lawn backyard. The patio’s perimeter is enclosed by a wrought iron fence and gate manufactured by Baltimore’s ironsmith, G. Krug & Son. The second floor features a large center hall with a primary suite with dressing room and separate office. Two additional bedrooms and full bath complete the second floor. The third floor offers two large bedrooms, an office or sitting room, a clothes storage room and an additional storage room. There is a retractable stairwell to a full attic for storage and access to the HVAC. Leading down from the entry hall is an open, wood paneled stairwell to the basement. The wood paneled study/office in the basement features built-in bookcases, a fireplace, a wet bar, half bath, safe room and separate library with built in bookcases. The study opens onto the back lawn with double doors and sitting area. The basement also has a work room, ample storage, a laundry room, access to the driveway via a doorway. A back stairwell leads up to the first floor coat room off of the kitchen. The owner was a master gardener and the property features mature planting of specimen trees and shrubs, and flowers. There are flowers in bloom every month of the year. The plantings create a sense of total privacy for the back yard and much of the property. As the back of the property faces west and south and sits, the house and gardens are sunlit. The property features a flagstone driveway that leads to the kitchen, a two-car garage with full lower floor, where the original owners raised dogs that ran in the ample woods below. In 2018, a deer fence was installed to protect the upper gardens on the property. A new asphalt shingle roof was installed in the 2000s, and is maintained by Fick Brothers. Midvale Road is conveniently located, and close to all the wonderful Roland Park amenities. Enjoy strolling on the historical paths of Roland Park, visit nearby friends, walk to shops, schools and restaurants and the Roland Park library. - home being sold As Is

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers at this school are excellent--as good as you will find in any private school. I don't know how they do it, given how many students they have, but they are really invested, really get to know all these kids. There is always that one teacher who doesn't seem to like kids or their job, but I've found that to be the case everywhere, even when spending $25K+ on tuition. We didn't know a whole lot about IB going in, and while I love the philosophy of expanding world views and critical thinking, I find the grading system bizarre and, I feel, it causes undue stress. But that's a criticism of IB, not City. The school goes above and beyond to try to support kids struggling with mental health issues like anxiety and depression, but I guess I feel like all schools, all of us as a society, should be doing more to prevent kids from becoming so stressed in the first place. The emphasis on high stakes testing might be great for kids who are naturally competitive and confident, but even for them, is that really healthy? Overall, we are happy with the school. I wouldn't say this is good preparation for college though--college is FAR easier and less stress. In IB you have 6 or 7 academic subjects. If I recall, in college I think you only have like 4? If you have a child who is prone to anxiety or depression, I would be sure to have a lot of supports in place. Remind your kids that this particular test or that grade will make zero difference in the overall quality of their life and to lighten up. 1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThere isn’t much offered here… The AP courses listed here are inaccurate, we only have AP Gov, AP Calc, AP Seminar/Research, AP psychology, & AP Stats. The teachers aren’t terrible at all, some of them are great at doing lessons, but the school can’t keep teachers for long… I didn’t even have a math teacher Sophomore year… We had a substitute all year long. Then Junior year my math teacher quit within the first 3 months… My stats: I scored a 1000+ on the SAT, and had a 3.5+ GPA and was top 10 within my class… I was on track with College level English/Writing but wasn't prepared for College math. I wouldn’t recommend this school unless it was a last resort. Even though I got good grades and succeeded I didn’t learn much. School environment isn’t the safest… Guns were found, people were stabbed.. There were shootings around the school, and we were on lockdown every other week.Other Review1mo ago - Vivien T. 6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs students in the 2023–2024 school year, my sister and I feel that some teachers (of course, not all) are poor at teaching. Some are too focused on seating or uniforms (or even their own egos) rather than student education. Some even seem to not know the subject they are teaching or how to teach it. This is very worrying to me personally because I know I deserve a good education. Of course, there are some disruptive students. However, some students get sent out without good reason. These students don't even get a minute to explain themselves, and I think we deserve to be listened to, even outside of a situation like this. As for the bathroom, almost every teacher that I've had has a "go in your next class" or "Why didn't you go in your last class" mentality. This goes around in circles. If every teacher thinks this, there will never be a time to go to the bathroom. Additionally, the (female) bathroom downstairs is terribly small, and, from what I've experienced, the upstairs one, which is much bigger, is locked most of the time. The thing I do like about this school is duel enrollment. I think it's great that I could get out of college early by taking courses in high school. However, I do wish that there were more courses. I hope that this helps some parents.Student Review4mo ago - Renaissance Academy

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe leadership at the school is horrible and so u organized the whole school is a sham they are supposed to be for sister hood but that is all a lie i took my daughter out of there her first year in 6th grade in the second quarter and sent her back to her old school the kids are out of control and the adults can’t handle the girls it was fights every day and the only way I would find out is id my daughter told me . There is no type of communication for the school as far as emails .. also if you email an administrator don’t expect a response until next week sometime. The movie step shows you how much of a sister hood and great school its supposed to be but the movie is a front and its not at all like the school really is .
