8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSo disappointed in this school really thought it would be an excellent academic environment for my kids (in fact, we moved to Wellesley for the schools). The class size is very small (17 to 22 students) which should be a major plus, but unfortunately it is not. What surprises me the most is that even in 5th grade, it seems like the kids are in a pre-school environment. They are babied. They are not being challenged or prepared for the rigors and organizational skills necessary for middle school. There is basically no home work. Just one sheet of math & 30 minutes of reading. There are no book reports or research projects (initially I was relieved because getting my kids to sit down and really put in the effort to recap & evaluate a book or topic was a challenge but in the end it is definitely worth it) . I find it very difficult to gauge how my kids are doing on a weekly basis. No tests/quizzes come home on Fridays (at our previous school, they had a spelling test every week & math tests, etc. every few weeks or so & the tests came home in their backpacks). And there are no after school on campus structured activities. Why can't they offer this? So sad and disappointed.Parent Review10y ago - Katharine Lee Bates Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageExpected the Wellesley schools to be great, and elementary school was pretty good. But middle school has been miserable. If your kid fits a certain profile, it might be a good place for them. But there are few options for those who don't fit the mold of a "typical" Wellesley kid.Parent Review4w ago - Wellesley Sr High School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis High School is excellent in that the teaching staff is top notch. There are so many courses to choose from and the individual departments and teacher encourage student to challenge themselves, stretch themselves and not limit them to mid-level course offerings. There seems to be a lot of communication between families, teachers and administration. The communication is open and the atmosphere is positive. Our kids all got great educations and had their choice of top tier colleges. The principal is very open to talking with parents and makes sure that the faculty adopts a similar open policy. I feel like they are concerned with your child and work with the student to achieve success.Parent Review10y ago - Check out schools near 29 Albion Rd.

"Great access to commuter rail from either Wellesley Square or Wellesley Hills. Easy 10-15 min walk. Better parking from Wellesley Square. Usually takes about 1/2 hour to Back Bay. Driving into Boston can take a little more time with traffic to cross town to Mass Pike."

"Nice neighborhood besides the entitled people who are so foolishly rich they don’t think they should stop (at a red light) to let people out of their driveways. 30 minutes today to get out onto Washington. Thanks neighbors "
