Overall, my child had a good experience at NNHS and was prepared very well for the rigors of college in STEM. Socially, there's lots of activities available as one would expect with 2k+ student body and state-of-the-art facilities but bullying and drugs are disturbingly prevalent. The principal is an extreme social justice activist that uses his position to indoctrinate students with his personal beliefs and views.

Although there are some strong teachers, they are all new and young (all of the experienced teachers miraculously left within the first few years after the arrival of the no longer new Principal). The Principal is an administrator, not a leader. The school community is significantly lacking without empowered and experienced educators and strong leadership. Consistent with the Newton schools, the academics are fine... they follow the common core curriculum precisely, one worksheet at a time with little variation. if you want experiential or more effective and creative learning that will prepare your children for the future look elsewhere.
