Description

Attention contractors/handypersons. Rare opportunity to restore one of Medfords significant historic properties. This historic gem possesses many fine attributes & the possibility to return a City treasure back to its original luster. The Samuel Reaves House, circa 1760, is thought to be one of the Citys oldest taverns & significant as the only 1 story 18th Century gambrel roof structure to survive in Medford & for its location in an early industrial center of Medford: the now sought-after Marm Simonds Historic District. (Source: Medford Historical Commission). This home sits far back on a deep narrow 11K+ sq ft lot & offers the rare balance of privacy & convenience with its easy access to major routes, buses, Commuter Rail, Medford & W. Medford Squares. A 1st floor rear addition was completed in 2000 & consists of a large eat-in kitchen, full bath & bedroom. Also boasts LR, DR, bath & home office on this spacious level. 2nd level has 2 BRs & full bath. Sold as is.

"I love living around Medford Square. You can walk to everything you want: doctor's office, pharmacy, library, post office, all kinds of food, parks, and so on. It's up-and-coming but it still feels like a neighborhood where folks know each other and it isn't overcrowded -- the perfect mix, really. There are bus lines that go straight to places a lot of people go for work, including a direct bus to Harvard Square. You can also easily hop on 93 and get to the airport in 10 min. I feel like Medford Square is a secret gem a lot of people don't know about. "

"I am a north shore kid, so I never knew how safe Boston suburbs are becoming. I've always heard never go near Melrose, Malden, Somerville, etc. There are definitely bad parts in any city, but overall it has come a long way since I moved to MA in 1993. Medford itself has no real nightlife, but Somerville is a short drive away. Some upcoming restaurants around the Fellsway area. "

"I live in this area and I think it is the best Suburban location in the Boston area. Wright's Pond is right there for a swim in the summer without needing to drive an hour to a decent beach. Also there are several parks, excellent restaurants, gyms, and grocery stores all within walking distance. That being said you are far enough away that you have the relaxing suburban feel at the same time."
