4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs close to a 5 as possible. The school could improve slightly on dealing with bullying in that my child had an issue with another student and when the teacher saw the situation both kids got in trouble. I strongly believe that a child should be able to defend him or herself without fear of reprisals from both the bully and the teacher.Parent Review5y ago - Abraham Lincoln Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNot a parent, but I’m a former student who graduated from this school circa 2012 who is now a university student. Based on my experiences, I’m rating this school a one-star because some of the teachers are too serious regarding the tone they speak in and communicate with students. They’re teaching children, what are they expecting them to be? Have fully developed brains and act mature? I understand that children need to behave, but yelling at them and embarrassing them in front of the class isn’t going to help and will probably make them a bullying target. From what I recall, the teaching curriculum was okay-ish. Although, the teachers weren’t very helpful when it came to class assignments. The teachers also weren’t very friendly like I mentioned before, making it intimidating to ask them for help.Other Review1y ago - James S Daley Middle School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhile I cannot say the is the best school, it is pretty nice! The teachers here are wonderful, and the principles are okay. My current homeroom teacher, Ms. Kullberg, is a nice person that is good at teaching her students. Our social studies and ELA teacher is also great at this. I have made many friends here, and I almost never see bullying happening. So yeah, this school is cool.Student Review2y ago - Lowell High School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have had 2 students at this school, one from pre-k to 8, the other k to 8. One on the autism spectrum. Both have done really well at this school. One is now in college, after graduating in the top ten in his high school class, which speaks well of how the Bartlett prepared him for high school. After an initial battle to get the one with autism special ed services, which was mostly an issue with the school department's central office, not the school staff, the school staff really stepped up with coming up with effective service plans. Good communication from the school to parents. I really have no complaints about the education my kids got here.Parent Review2y ago - Kathryn P. Stoklosa Middle School

What Locals Say about Acre
- Trulia User

"The traffic isn’t too bad but there’s a few spots that are very congested, too many cars parked on the road and homeless people constantly asking for money. Also the roads themselves are horrendous with a bunch of pot holes and should be fixed asap. "

"It may be around the housing projects but it isn’t that scary. Just have to be friendly. It’s close to a Market Basket. Has a public pool in the area as well. There are a couple of school around."

"Loud during the school year. College kids are ridiculous, have had property damaged and caught on camera. They have parties on weekends so it gets loud and busy at night in the area. "

"We do not have any block parties etc. We live right by U Mass Lowell and enjoy the activities of the students. Most of the housing is apartments.Lowell has many public events from a-z. Most people attend with their families. Lowell is a small but very cultured city. The park recreation music events are well attended. The city is beautiful in the winter with a wonderful display of holiday lights and events"

"Diverse neighborhood with many local shops for anything that’s needed. Center of a very beautiful downtown restoration. The library and city hall are convenient for all. Many fine reads and activities. Computers for research and tutors for all, the very young on up. Parks are just a few steps away. Many faiths gather around a church and other spiritual locations. U Mass Lowell puts it all together in this city neighborhood. Families are plentiful and always welcome."

"This neighborhood is pretty good for the most part. I’ve lived here for 17 years. Some new neighbors that moved in party an awful lot and I’m hoping that would simmer down since this neighborhood have always been quiet. However, I still would not let my children walk outside alone. "

"Nothing. The neighborhood has gotten worse. It’s overly crowded. People party like crazy. Streets are so dirty and small. Road sucks. A lot needs to be done. "
