"It’s pretty and Halloween is a big deal in the south end. The pride parade comes through here. Restaurant row is also great. Support local business. "

"Not a ton of green spaces for late night walks. Have to walk fairly far at least a few blocks to find a spot for my dog."

"Often there is human feces and needles to navigate around. The neighborhood has gotten worse over the last couple of years. "

"SOWA is great. Sidewalk shopping days at local businesses. But it’s less about events, more about living in the perfect place for a summer evening stroll, glasses clinking at small restaurants, music on the breeze. "

"There are some parts close to Mass Ave that I would not recommend bringing a child around. Overall very warm neighborhood and pet friendly. Overpriced but location is key."

"Boston in general isn’t very pet friendly and the South End is no exception. Many parks and outdoor spaces say, “No dogs.”"

"Dog owners would love the fact that there is a pretty dog park , and dog friendly parks all around. People normally love dogs so 10 times out of 10 you’ll get someone who wants to pet your dog , wether it be a small child or adult."

"Everyone has one. The dog park at the corridor is a blast. Most places allow small dogs. There are several pet shops from boutique to commercial. You and your dog will feel at home and safe unlike a lot of places in the city. If you need puppy training classes, Mark over at unleashed is fantastic. Most places let your bring your dog in and if you’re Dining out, patios are the perfect spot . "

"Dog owners would like the fact that black stone square, while not a dog park is very dog friendly as most people with well behaved dogs have them off leash."

"The south end is truly one of Boston’s treasures. It is many micro neighborhoods, which can often be a block or two in size, but which are united in pride of common identity. A truly diverse place where people of many races, social identities, and economic classes live together with an amazing sense of togetherness. Almost any product or service you want is within a few blocks walk, and people & families of all types use all of them. I’m a happy resident."

"It's a community that has undergone incredible changes in the past 50 years. People have been buying up buildings and restoring them at a feverish pace. The city has also done its part in maintaining the brick sidewalks and gas lamps, and keeping the streets free of crime."

"The South End is unique because of its suburban/small neighborhood feel and idyllic houses. It also has great restaurants and cafes (probably the best selection in the city). The SoWa open market is outstanding and my favorite thing to do on Sundays!"
