5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was a student at Benjamin Franklin. I started at this school when I was in Pre-K, and I am now in the 9th grade at Lusher School. When I attended this school before Hurricane Katrina it was a magnet school meaning you had to take a test. After Katrina the school was obliged to allow any student in without taking a test. The teachers at Benjamin Franklin do not care about the child's education, they do not have a great disciplinary system at all and they just student do whatever they choose at this school. That is why I decided to leave for 8th grade at Lusher School. I will say that the only good thing about Benjamin Franklin is that it goes from Pre-K to 8th grade. I f you want your child to go to an extraordinary school send them to Lusher Charter School.Other Review9y ago - Check out schools near 1765 Coliseum St #316.

"I've lived in the area for several years and love it. The historic area has had a major upgrade since I've been here, a renaissance that is continuing as we speak. Close to everything - The Magazine St. corridor, St. Charles Ave, the river, the Superdome, the Warehouse district and French Quarter... as well as the main roads in and out of the city..."

"We loved living in this neighborhood -- there are tons of absolutely fantastic restaurants, shops and entertainment all within walking distance. The French Quarter, Superdome, Mississippi River Moonwalk, and Farmers Markets are all within a couple blocks of Julia & Magazine as well. We looked forward to the first Saturday of every month when the art galleries on Julia Street would all open their doors to show off their new exhibits. People from all walks of life would come out, enjoy a glass of wine and see great art while meeting new people. We also loved the White Linen Night festival on Julia Street every August. We Miss Living here!!! We would recommend this area to anyone looking to rent or buy property in New Orleans."
