1405 Highland is fully restored Victorian brick home available for a 9 to 11 month lease starting August 1, 2021 and ending May 15th. This home has five bedrooms, 3 bathrooms (two with showers and baths), enclosed backyard for your dog, barbeque, and volleyball games. It's the nicest rental home now available with full repairs for all appliances, yard cleaning, and a alley way. We are looking for a rent of $2,750 depending on the number of people residing. We show 1405 Highland on Tuesday at 7 p.m. and on Sunday at noon. It is partly furnished with baby grand piano, dinning room table, couches, and modern art throughout the home. Talk about being house proud! This home was used as a home/office that worked well for its four residents, dog, and cat with fenced in yard that has alley access.

Live, work, and play in this gorgeous turn of the century three story brick Victorian in Louisville's most heralded neighborhood the Highlands. Highland Avenue is a celebrated iconic place: 1405 Highland Ave is not just a home, is not just a great renovated and modernized Victorian but also a lifestyle in a highly sought after neighborhood location with historically consistent high values.

This amazing home was rehabbed in 2006 and updated again by one of the country's leading historic preservation experts (book author) from 2016 to 2020 using Architectural Salvage to find missing pieces of craftsmanship. More recent updates include one new HVAC (1) system, plumbing, electric, the two and half bathrooms upgrades, a modern kitchen with appliances; adding closets, windows, and air to two third floor rooms along with a storage area; and energy efficiencies were added as well.

The ground floor living areas are a craftsman's dream with beautiful refinished inlaid floors throughout. This floor has three amazing grand fireplaces with uniquely beautiful historical details. The fireplace in the dining room has a working gas hearth. The entire first floor was just painted in a rejuvenating white. The updated kitchen includes tile flooring with stainless steel GE profile appliances and craft made cabinets windows on two sides. The former dilapidated "mud room" has been turned into a versatile multipurpose addition: 'rock and roll' room, game room, bedroom, or comfortable reading room with shelving and natural light. This room is also the entrance to the two room stand up cellar with shelves and tables. The owner has also remodeled the half bathroom.

The freshly painted front of the home's massive covered porch with swing is perfect for people watching. Last year, the sides and back of the house were painted.

The second floor offers three bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The master bedroom has natural light coming in from the North and South ends with another cast iron fireplace! The master bath has marble flooring, double sinks, a Jacuzzi tub and a separate stand up glass enclosed shower. The second bedroom is very large, it has floor to ceiling wall shelves perfect for your library, and a craftsman fireplace. The third room is currently used as an office with wrap around shelves. There are custom barn doors made of historic salvaged wood on the closet making it the third bedroom.

Windows, closets and air were added to the third floor. There you will find a spacious space divided into two rooms and additional storage space. The first room can be used as an office, a guest room while the other can be an art studio or even extra sleeping space for guests.

Enjoy the beautiful outdoors in your privately fenced back yard with alley access. There is room enough for badminton, croquet, volleyball or simply entertaining.
Although built in 1916, the home offers energy efficiencies: the metal roof was coated a thick substance called "umbrella" white to deflect the sun and reduce energy costs along with lots of large trees in the front. Another extra feature is that with high ceilings, the need for central air on the first floor is minimal with fans placed in four of the first floor rooms, three in the second floor rooms and one in the third floor.
