Absolutely delightful 1920's Craftsman Bungalow in dynamite location at the corner of Magnolia and S 1st in historic Old Louisville. Wonderful coffered ceilings await in the Living Room and Formal Dining Room...all original woodwork...beautiful hardwood floors! Roof is approx 10 years old with gutter guard. Rear Sunroom with skylights added approx 12 yrs ago. GREAT BONES!!! With updating, this could be a show-stopper! Large attic would be great for storage. 1-car Garage could easily be re-opened and put back into active use. While mechanicals are older, they have been serviced and are in working order. Lovely rear yard (deck condition unknown/walk on it at your own risk) is fully fenced. Big lazy front porch

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son had to transfer to Cochran part of the way through his first grade year because of some problems at his previous school, and the Cochran community was supportive and kind to him from day one. The school is truly a community, he was accepted and shown love from the kids right up front. He had special connections with his teachers- I felt that they saw him for the individual he is and appreciated him. Anytime I had an issue the administration was responsive and helpful. Great school, would recommend to anyone.Parent Review1y ago - Iroquois High School

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf you wants to attend a good high school, you are fortunate if you choose this school. You will have access to classrooms that are conducive to learning. These spaces are likely bright, clean, and well-organized, with comfortable seating and ample space for movement. In addition, This school likely employs knowledgeable and passionate teachers who are dedicated to helping you achieve your academic goals. They may use a variety of teaching methods to keep you engaged and motivated, and they may provide opportunities for hands-on learning and collaboration with my peers. Overall, my school is an excellent place to learn and grow, both academically and personally. I am lucky to be a part of such a supportive and enriching community.Student Review3mo ago - Meyzeek Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI'm only in the first day 7th grade so this opinion might well change, but I'll say it anyway. My 6th grade teachers were absolutely phenomenal and I would definitely take it again (21-22 class, in the Explorers team) given the chance. I cannot stress enough how great the teachers were. I wish Meyzeek did the same looping style as Highland Middle I don't really know what to feel about my 7th grade teachers, but thus far, they seem good enough - certainly very energetic and welcoming of the students, which brings me to my primary concern about the school. The teachers and staff are fine, given a few biased exceptions. What isn't so great is the students. You will encounter name-calling, fighting, and horseplay around every corner you turn. The staff are trying to proactively resolve this problem and do have security cameras in place to identify students involved in potentially more dangerous tussles. Not just this, but the restrooms. The restrooms appear pretty good in 6th grade, but once you move to 7th, the doors become very, very short. It's not that big of a deal, considering it's the case with a good number of other JCPS schools, but the difference is pretty shocking when you've become used to the "better" ones (a very broad term - it depends on what kind of bathroom shenanigans students decide to pull, leaving the poor janitor to clean it up. He deserves a raise.) The lunch food is the same as everywhere else, but if you've been eating school lunch for multiple years, you won't get the extreme bouts of food poisoning mentioned in other reviews (to my experience, at least). One newly introduced rule is the ban of hoodies and I feel that this is a step in the wrong direction, but certainly a good way to prevent people from wearing hoods so often - another problem in the school, albeit it doesn't mean much to students. The arrival and dismissal is generally pretty smooth. I don't think I have anything else to say, but one thing you should watch out for is lines. They're generally pretty chaotic, given there's not a teacher watching over them at all times.Student Review1y ago - Check out schools near 1381 S 1st St.

"There’s just really no place for your dogs to play, there’s roads and alleys everywhere. People drive really fast on the road and it makes it dangerous for the animals. Lots of the yards aren’t fenced in and lead right into the alleys. And most yards aren’t maintained well enough for a dog."

"I’ve lived her for a year and it is just amazingly beautiful. The history and architecture of St. James is simply unmatched. The local bars, restaurants and coffee shops all in walking distance mixed with Central Park being so close makes it wonderful spot. There is also a police station in the park itself which makes it feel safe."

"The area is ok if you use common sense. Young children shouldn’t be wandering out alone and out by them selves. The parks are nice around here for you to spend time with your child- just stay off of your phones and interact with them and your loved ones will be fine and you will be all the happier for spending quality time with your lovelies. "

"I grew up here in the 60s and 70s and lived here in the 80s and early 90s. It’s always been home to me and the houses are some of the most unique Victorians around. It’s always good to see some of the older houses being renovated. "
