7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe vibes are very tense. Teachers are awesome, for the most part, def a few bad apples xD. Some of the other students give me the major creeps, which makes the school environment much less dope. History teachers unfortunately love dad jokes :/ Overall pretty good experience, classes are pretty easy but also challenging you in the way they should. Students are very cliquey, no one seems to branch out it's kinda like High School Musical. People actually dance on the tables at lunch too, but more like the dance in "Saturday Nights Alright" in Rocketman, where you think they're dancing but they're actually just fighting. Multiple times we've been leaving school and gotten stuck behind a fight.Student Review1y ago - Summit View Academy

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI would love to give SVA a great review. My kids have had very different experiences in the building. Child A has adhd & is a gifted student. Although they are in advanced classes they're bored often due to lack of engagement from teachers and get in trouble almost daily. They've been made to feel like the target of teachers' negativity year after year. I know my child isn't perfect, but being in trouble every single day when you're really trying your hardest is no way to go through life. They have zero focus on social emotional learning here & if your child doesn't have a 504 plan or an iep they will be overlooked... it seems at this school you have to get one for your child to get any help in any way. The teachers don't do anything with threats against other kids & the administration is even worse. I can't wait until Child A is out of this school. Child B is younger & loves SVA. They are getting great grades & have lots of friends. They've had some trouble, but mostly on the bus with bigger kids. I'm guessing Child B's experience is also different because they're in a lower grade level. I'm not looking forward to Child B reaching middle school here at all.Parent Review3mo ago - Check out schools near 4961 Kellnick Ct.

"Liver herr my whole life. Best city in Kentucky . Plenty of schools around. Local festivals. One of the biggest Kroger’s in the state in the center of town "

"They would like that there’s lots of places to walk your dog. The yards are also quite large which makes it a great place for the dogs to be."

"Quite a bit of traffic on 3L every morning. Commute takes about 20 minutes to Erlanger. Depending on whatever time to leave it could take longer. "

"Not all neighborhoods have sidewalks for walking and not a lot of trash receptacles for poo. Also see people have dogs in their yard off the leash. So that can be a little scary depending on the dog’s behavior. "

"It's a beautiful area and well maintained. You are "in the city" but get that "countryside" feel. I feel super safe here and it's a great place to raise a family. Everything you need is nearby but without all the hustle & bustle and without so much crime. I do wish that there were a few more time windows for bus transit's BUT the upside of there not being a constant line of buses is that it is what helps the city be so safe in MY OPINION. Independence is a fabulous place to call home."

"It’s a really safe neighborhood for kids to play in their yards and take walks around the neighborhoods where I live. I am a young adult and I often take night walks around the neighborhood and I have never once felt unsafe. The people are always friendly though people tend to keep to themselves. "

"Great family and budget friendly neighborhood. Safe and schools aren’t bad. Would definitely recommended living here if you’re ready for a country neighborhood "

"Independence is a great suburban area for raising a family but there’s not much of a night life here there aren’t many nice restaurants and all the homes are the same and value design over uniqueness and functionality but you are next to good school districts and stores"

"No there’s not much to say about independence it’s a lovely little town for the right type of people. Someone who wants to settle down and wants to experience all four seasons. That being said there’s not many unique homes out here there all cookies cutter homes that focus on design instead of quality functionality and uniqueness. Altogether it’s a neighbor hood for a certain type of buyer there’s a lot of Restaurants and schools."

"People have a lot of dogs and take care of them. You rarely see a stray and if a dog gets loose everyone is willing to help get them back to their home. Not ideal if you don’t like barking because there are a lot of dogs. 😂"
