2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy experience with the school has been excellent at distinct levels. I rate this school high in safety and teaching. The teachers are dedicated and caring. Too often, the media focuses on deficit views of the school, yet the assets offered by this school are often ignored.Parent Review1y ago - Crispus Attucks Medical Magnet High School (9-12)

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageRecent Alum, Andrea Hunley ruined this school and played everyone just to get enough political clout to get herself a seat as a state senator. Would flaunt the achievements of the program and school as her own doing while the majority of students, families, and other facilities disliked her heavily made negative changes to long-standing school policies, and was an ineffective leader. If the woman couldn't handle an elementary and middle school with so few students she has no place in the state senate. She also used her position when appointed as principal to admit her own children skipping the lottery admissions process. Collier and Turner would be so disappointed in what you have turned this school into.Other Review2mo ago - George Washington Community High School (9-12)

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has several bright points and also many challenges. I think the school does a really good job with providing a quality place to learn; many awesome teachers, some not as great, that's the way it would go at any school. The principal cares about the students and, in my experience, so do the teachers. Maybe it's not a 5/5, but it's also not a 1, so I want to balance it out.Other Review11mo ago - Shortridge High School

"This is a nice area. The parks are crowded in spring/summer/early fall. So much that they park on the grass, which they shouldn't. People that don't live here should respect those that do. More times than many, they park in front of, and some times, park in people's driveways and houses. And dropping off and picking up kids from the school down the street is sometimes dangerous. They speed, run stop signs, and have no regard for people that walk around here."

"There a huge 40+ acre park with lots of trails, including a portion of the Pleasant Run trail. We almost always see people out walking their dogs when we're at the park."

"People walk their dogs all the time around here. At nite, they use flashlights, because there's no lit pathways. But as far as I've seen, there's been few to no problems. "

"I've lived in this neighborhood for almost 3 years. The neighbors on my street are friendly and helpful. They also look out for me and my house even when they know I am not home. It is quiet and the yards/houses are well kept with lots of character"
- Kristen

"Seconds away from a quick drive to Irvington area, 7 minute drive to downtown, a walk from the park which includes tennis courts, basketball courts, playground, park shelters, and sprinkler pool area. Lots of mature trees and with how close this neighborhood is to downtown, it's amazing how much space, privacy and land each house has. Cute area/neighborhood!"
