8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe've had two kids go completely through Lincoln Elementary and Hanover Middle School and High School. We currently have a little one that just got done with a couple of years at Lincoln and now she is off to Red Cedars. So far so good. Our boys were honor students and our daughter is turning out to be just like her brothers. The schools have always been supportive, sure they've had some hiccups along the way but they seem to come back better than before. Ever since we enrolled our way back in 2005, we've felt like Hanover has always provided a safe, fun, supportive environment that kids can thrive in. (2020/2021) I have found every staff member that I have come in contact with to be very friendly and helpful. I can't say enough good things about the staff. My daughter feels that the teachers at Hanover Central Middle School treat students better than the teachers where she used to attend which was at a Christian school. She also feels they genuinely care more about the students. Unfortunately, we are moving. I would highly recommend this school!Parent Review3y ago

"There’s is no issue with owning a dog and living here. Everyone is friendly. I have 3 dogs and never have a problem even if they leave the yard. Respectful neighbors. I could live here forever! "

"I’ve lived here all my life. I’m still living with my parents, as my fiancé and I are trying to save money and get rid of our debt before buying a house. We are looking to buy a home in Cedar Lake. We both went to Hanover schools and are comfortable with the idea of raising our kids here."

"I have lived in Havenwood in CL for 15 years We have 2 ponds that you can fish in. A nice family friendly park with a basketball court and a pavilion that you can use for parties. There are sidewalks for you to walk your dog and children to ride their bikes. "

"I have lived here my whole life. It used to be a small town full of corn fields, and you always ran into people you knew in public. Now it is rapidly growing and the school systems are crowded. (I’m a teacher in NW Indiana.) There are pros and cons to the increase in population, but I love this town."

"Commuting to major Metro Areas is somewhat time consuming. Train Stations are all at least 35 mins drive. And the train commute to Chicago would be an additional 45 mins to an hour depending on the station you depart from. Don’t move to CL if you want to have a short commute to work. "
