7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school leaves much to be desired. We moved our family to Attica a few years ago because we love the environment that a small town school offers to our children -- we don't want them to be just another face in the crowd. Sadly we found a school that is just riddled with trouble. The Principal has made the paper repeatedly this school year because of a serious lack of professionalism. The office staff is a bit cold -- which is shocking at the elementary level. The school nurse readily distributes medications without parental permission. Emails and phone calls go completely ignored at all levels -- all the way up to the superintendent. It has been a big let down. We wanted to love it...but there are just so many disappointments. Perhaps most importantly the academics are seriously lacking, the standards here are very low. There are so many children that are struggling to do the basics here who do not receive appropriate interventions. Meanwhile our children complain that the workload is too easy! We need better intervention methods for those that are deficient and improved gifted and talented options for those that are identified as such. The school is a mess.Parent Review10y ago - Attica High School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI feel Attica Consolidated School Corporation (ACSC) are very good/great. I also believe that the success of most schools usually start at the homes of their students that attend their school. Are parents parenting their children at home, are they being taught and shown good values, respectfulness, manors, right from wrong, consequences, rewards, good role modeling, love and affection to just mention a few? Are parents supporting the staff at their children's school or just making excuses for their children in way of blaming the school? All these things carry over to school and if the child(ren) are not being taught, shown, treated these ways by their parents/guardians, there is going to be problems with the child(ren) in school guaranteed, faculty and staff in any school can only do so much for our children. The school could have the highest qualified educators/leadership/ staff there is and it would not matter if the child(ren) are not being taught, shown, treated properly at home first. It is our job as parents/guardians to teach/parent our children the listed example of items above plus more. It is the school's job to help educate our children to a higher level of education and that is pretty hard to do if the classroom has a good deal of students showing disrespectful, poor values, poor manners, no consequences to pay for their poor choices or actions, etc. Parent's need to stop blaming their child(ren) school for their lack of interest to parent their own children. I have seen nothing but highly educated, caring, hard working teachers, principals, leadership, personnel, and staff at ACSC. Don't get me wrong there are a lot of excellent parents and students in Attica and I am appalled by the few, yet poor reviews and "score" ACSC has received on this site. If you are considering moving to the Attica area and have concerns regarding ACSC I would encourage you to call ACSC, set up a time to meet and speak with Mr. Marshall, Superintendent and the school's principal's, ask questions, meet teachers and other staff members. Do not decide based on any reviews you may read. I live in Attica and have grandchildren that attend ACSC and we couldn't be happier with Attica's School's.Other Review8y ago - Check out schools near 519 Avenue 6.

"I've lived in this neighborhood for 12 years and it has its flaws, but it's home. I do like how places are within short walking distance. I don't like how we don't have very much to choose from with stores or restaurants. The only grocery store we have used to be 24/7 but now it closes at 11 pm."
