6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy 1 star is directed towards a teacher in particular: Carolyn Thomas.Absolutely horrible teacher. She ruined English for myself and for many other students. I felt bullied by her and she would openly bully other students too.She would use other student’s work as a basis of what “not to do”. I saw her use someone’s essay as an example, in front of her whole class, of “how not to do an essay.”If someone has a learning issue, it doesn’t matter to her. She will belittle that student. Her liking of a person consists of whether or not she can sympathize with them being “different”, since she was a supposed goth girl in her younger years.I also witnessed her being passive aggressive towards a student for spelling a word wrong on the board.I’m pretty sure that student is still traumatized by how she treated them. If anything, I don’t think she is fit to teach. If she ever reads this: You’re a god awful person for the way you treat some of your students. I wonder how you sleep at night with how badly you’ve treated kids over the years. Unacceptable and horrible.Other Review1y ago - Prairie Trail School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe really like the teachers at this school. They're a dedicated staff that works hard to make learning fun. I love that they have gym every day as well as a rotation of art, music, library, and technology. They also teach coding starting in kindergartners. All in all we've been very happy with the education our daughter has gotten at this school.Parent Review4y ago - Viking School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageRiver Trail is an awesome school! The teachers and leadership are both amazing. I have three kids in the school, and we couldn't be happier. Teachers take steps to challenge my kids and push them to do their best. The teachers are always super responsive to any questions or concerns I have. The school sends newsletters every week and teachers send additional info as needed. It helps to keep us in the loop. Although, remote learning had its challenges last year, River Trail handled it so well. You could tell they always took steps to be sure they did what was best for kids.Parent Review2y ago - Check out schools near 13208 W Bairstow St.

"Like every neighborhood, you just have to be careful anywhere you go, but waukegan is a decent place to live in, you just have to make sure you pick a good neighborhood, do your research and you should be fine. I do love that there is a lot of parks everywhere, is a very good option especially if you have small children."
