6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy nephew finished his kindergarten here at STEAM with Ms Pligml- she’ one of the best Teacher. Principal, Teachers and Staff were the best. Respectful, INCLUSIVE, Accommodating. Maybe the location of the school is not that great but other than that, I have nothing but great things to say about this school.Parent Review1mo ago - Jefferson High School

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWas a senior of class 23, overall the experience was alright but there are a good majority of students that are disrespectful to everyone around them and cause a disturbance to everyone in class, teachers are normally to nice and let them get away with it but even if they put their foot down theu get verbally assaulted by these kids. I was lucky enough to have soom good teachers but at times there would be a teacher that was passive aggressive with students. PE teachers were always late and for the 2st semester of my senior year there were times the PE teacher never showed up and this happened a few times. Fighting is a regular in stairwells and most of the time there isn't much to be done about them. Luckily they installed metal detectors so hopefully the crime goes down a bit. There is a good chance you could get assaulted or caught up in a fight so be careful. If you stick to yourself you will be fine for the most part. It's not the greatest school by any means but it isn't the worst either. I was in the service academy for public safety and I think the classes were amazing and loved the teacher for criminal justice and crime scene along with the sociology classes! Everyone has their own experience so take that into consideration if you are interested in this school. They are inclusive for kids that are part of the LGBTQ+ and have a club for those kids to have a safe space. The teacher that ran it when I was in school was lovely.Other Review7mo ago - Riverdahl Elementary School

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am currently a lunch- time tutor at Riverdahl Elementary. I have been welcomed and made to feel comfortable by everyone each time I walk in the door from the secretary that greets me, to the principal as she passes by, to the teachers that stop and say hello. And the students??? Happy, well-adjusted and eager to learn. Having been brought up in a home where education was valued and reinforced daily in work and play, it has been refreshing to experience the same qualities in today's school system. In fact, I don't know which of us is learning more in our lunch-time sessions - the students or myself !Other Review13y ago - Thurgood Marshall School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHand down, this is the best school in Illinois. I am from the suburbs of Chicago, and I believe this school is the best! Students are expected to perform at a high level and if they cannot take it then they have an option to leave. My older child feels high school is a breeze because of what he had learned in the gifted school.Parent Review4y ago - Check out schools near 2335 11th St.

"I work 5 minutes away and work in the school district, but I drive my kids to school because I don’t trust the school district bus. They both also go to two different schools, and both start at two different times. My teaching schedule doesn’t fit their schedules this year because the school district decided to start school later than last year, and much later start on Thursdays this year. Having to run around early in the morning is no problem, since where I live right now is close to major intersections. "
