6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy nephew finished his kindergarten here at STEAM with Ms Pligml- she’ one of the best Teacher. Principal, Teachers and Staff were the best. Respectful, INCLUSIVE, Accommodating. Maybe the location of the school is not that great but other than that, I have nothing but great things to say about this school.Parent Review1mo ago - Bernard W Flinn Middle School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagethe school is horrible for a child with diabetes, the teachers are uneducated about the disease and when the 504 plan is done, most do not show up for the meeting. My daughter has been here 3 years now and out of 5 or 6 teachers she is lucky to have 1 a year that sees her potential.Parent Review10y ago - Rockford East High School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe absolute worst four years of my life. Many teachers just did not care. A vivid memory which was a good example of this: a teacher wrote an assignment on the chalkboard - Read chapter 5 and answer questions 1-10. The teacher then proceeded to sit at his desk reading a newspaper. Worthless.Other Review7y ago - Whitehead Elementary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have a son that is currently in 5th grade at Whitehead, and another son who has completed Whitehead. The teachers and staff have been incredible for over 12 years. Every question is readily answered and the children receive an excellent education. I believe that in order for any child to truly get the most out of their school experience, the parents must be involved. I would recommend Whitehead to everyone and am saddened that this is the last school year for our family at this school.Other Review8y ago - Thurgood Marshall School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHand down, this is the best school in Illinois. I am from the suburbs of Chicago, and I believe this school is the best! Students are expected to perform at a high level and if they cannot take it then they have an option to leave. My older child feels high school is a breeze because of what he had learned in the gifted school.Parent Review4y ago - Check out schools near 2003 18th Ave.

"I work 5 minutes away and work in the school district, but I drive my kids to school because I don’t trust the school district bus. They both also go to two different schools, and both start at two different times. My teaching schedule doesn’t fit their schedules this year because the school district decided to start school later than last year, and much later start on Thursdays this year. Having to run around early in the morning is no problem, since where I live right now is close to major intersections. "
