8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son is a senior in this High School and has had nothing but positive things to say about his experiences. His English is not great and he was able to receive additional classes and support needed to get him to catch up with the regular students. He has made multiple friends from various nationalities and has significantly broadened his knowledge and experiences. Also, the faculty has been tremendously receptive and responsive to his needs. So I significantly disagree with the negative reviews and and highly recommend this school to any parents in the area.Parent Review5mo ago - Henry Winkelman Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageInconstancy with the school leadership who seem more keen on making people happy then doing the right thing in the name of equality and equity because of parents who are on the school board or make donations to the school.I've never seen a school where my child learns reading through POWERPOINT SLIDES? My child is kept busy with with endless packets and their teachers constantly play movies every Friday. I came in to try to art enrichment and I saw my child's teachers on her phone shopping! Would NOT recommend for anyone looking for a school for their child especially in the Northbrook community.Poor leadership and unmotivated teachers.Parent Review1y ago - Field School

What Locals Say about Northbrook

"It’s just a quiet sunset residential town. People move here because of the school districts. That’s the main incentive that draws people in, since that’s where most of our property taxes go. It’s mostly family oriented. "

"Walkable to Metra train to city — then about a 40-minute train ride. Also close drive to highway with approx 40-60-minute drive to city. "

"It’s a sundown town. The schools are good. However, there’s not much diversity. If you have a car, you have everything you need and you’re close to 94 and 294, which makes it ideal to commute from the northern suburbs. It’s quiet for the most part and there’s not much going on. It’s mostly a residential town. You only live here if you have kids."
