7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageQuite positive. Issues were addressed, concerns discussed. There is a disconnect between what is accomplished during the day and what is completed at night - expectations need to be adjusted. The missing element: an online calendar with assignments and deadlines opulated by teachers. Standardized - one place, all written assignments available to print. And, stop rushing kids from last period to bus - they forget items in their locker.Parent Review4y ago - Metea Valley High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAll 3 of my kids graduated from Metea and attended 4 year universities afterwards. Metea prepared them well! Especially strong music and visual arts programs that enriches our entire community. Supportive teachers with real world experience and strong leadership from principal on down. As a Latina mom, also appreciated how inclusive the school is to all races and groups. A lot of diversity at this school and it makes for a better overall community because of it. My kids’ friends were from all races, socio economic homes, and backgrounds. It was great to see and got them ready for the real world.Parent Review2y ago - Check out schools near 1071 Selma Ln.

"I have lived here since 2017 and I absolutely love this neighborhood. It's quite, friendly, safe and very child friendly. There is never any crime and you hardly ever hear emergency sirens. Every single neighbor has been wonderful and polite except one. "

"Best place to live in DC. It’s a beautiful neighborhood that is urban but not downtown. It’s all about the park and trail, tons of restaurants, things to do, grocery stores, markets, bar. Has its own metro in easy walking distance and a trail that connect you to the east side of the city. "
- Ryan B

"NoMa Bid has been creating a huge sense of community in Eckington and NoMa. For one they keep the area so clean and you always see their workers sweeping the sidewalks, changing trashing, maintenance at the dog park. And then there’s the events, most at the A.T. Park and the MBTrail. Movie in the park, farmers market, holiday events like pumpkin patch/contest, and of course the mural walls festival. The trail and park have beautiful murals everywhere and each year local artist renew most of them. (NoMa in Color). Also the dog parks is a big vibe in the area, Eckington Dog Park is the best in the city, but there are 4 in the area. Also, Bouldering Project is a cool bouldering and fitness gym. Theres tons of grocery, restaurants, bars and beer gardens, etc. it’s surround by Union Market, Brookland, Shaw, H Street… all connect my the MBT (bike/walk trail) and NoMa/Gallaudet Metro Station (subway).
