9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHonestly, I cannot say anything but great things about Ranch View! My first started there prior to the pandemic and even though I was flustered with how it went, her teachers did a great job. Last year, they noticed she was struggling in math and worked on with her. The extra resources they have amaze me and I cannot be happier with her progress. My youngest just started there and has grown leaps and bounds already too. I see the school has made adjustments and could not be happier with the progress I am seeing.Parent Review1y ago - Kennedy Junior High School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFor the 2017-18 school year, miserable. I'm sorry, but I couldn't say any other words truer than this. One more thing to add, as a student with a very complicated medical history and being disabled, I have been kicked out of the nurse's office not once, but several times. I was accused of abusing pain medication that my doctor had explicitly stated I was required to take my meds if I was feeling absolutely any pain whatsoever. Having to return to class with chronic migraines that affected my ability to learn made me, in the eyes of the school, a 'lazy' student. One of the councelors had told me directly in my face that I would not make it in life successfully after I was placed into the Academic Reading program for NNHS due to my grades. They refused to talk to my parents on occasion because of their accents- calling me down to the office several times and explaining that my mother came and left, but unable to understand her. "Do you need an interpreter?" No, my mom lived here since 1989. Stop. I feel like I would've given this school a much better review if it were not for the way they handled my disability and my family.Student Review5y ago - Check out schools near 2300 Trowbridge Way.

"I have lived here since 2017 and I absolutely love this neighborhood. It's quite, friendly, safe and very child friendly. There is never any crime and you hardly ever hear emergency sirens. Every single neighbor has been wonderful and polite except one. "

"Best place to live in DC. It’s a beautiful neighborhood that is urban but not downtown. It’s all about the park and trail, tons of restaurants, things to do, grocery stores, markets, bar. Has its own metro in easy walking distance and a trail that connect you to the east side of the city. "

"NoMa Bid has been creating a huge sense of community in Eckington and NoMa. For one they keep the area so clean and you always see their workers sweeping the sidewalks, changing trashing, maintenance at the dog park. And then there’s the events, most at the A.T. Park and the MBTrail. Movie in the park, farmers market, holiday events like pumpkin patch/contest, and of course the mural walls festival. The trail and park have beautiful murals everywhere and each year local artist renew most of them. (NoMa in Color). Also the dog parks is a big vibe in the area, Eckington Dog Park is the best in the city, but there are 4 in the area. Also, Bouldering Project is a cool bouldering and fitness gym. Theres tons of grocery, restaurants, bars and beer gardens, etc. it’s surround by Union Market, Brookland, Shaw, H Street… all connect my the MBT (bike/walk trail) and NoMa/Gallaudet Metro Station (subway).
