N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy children love their school and friends. Although lately, I've noticed there is only one person at the front office and sometimes there are two teachers but rarely now. I also noticed my children one time coming home saying they have a contest in school to fill a jar with coins and the class having the most coins filled will win ... odd ... I feel that the school is conserving soo much of their funds and making it difficult for other teachers. They also have a new program for younger children where parents can enroll their children for a few hours everyday and pay 300 a month. Even daycare centers having good curriculum is less expensive than what the school offers and it is a full day. I don't get what is happening internally but I for sure do not like what I am seeing.Parent Review8y ago - Big Hollow Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe absolutely love Big Hollow! This is my 6th year as a BH parent, and every year my kids have had amazing teachers who truly care about them. The teachers and staff are like family, and the community itself is just so friendly and welcoming. The teachers and admins emphasize character education. The superintendent is very involved, you see him at most events. It’s a wonderful school!Parent Review5y ago - Grant Community High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI had created this as a Google review, but after speaking to another student who shared their experience with the same bully of a teacher giving the middle finger to a person IN the classroom (who was a student at the time), I wanted to reach out more on other platforms.“Some teachers cared, which I appreciated. But the main point of my review was to make notice of my terrible 1st year at this school due to one teacher. I wasn’t a troublemaker. I was merely a quiet kid sitting in the back. I couldn’t speak up to the office or demand a new teacher. I was too shy. As I got older and graduated college, I now feel the confidence to speak up. I don’t want to call anyone out though. I would just like the school to be aware of what their teachers are doing in hopes of improving. Making us run in the snow during gym is whatever. Having a bloody nose and being given zero help, then told “Don’t get any blood on the new gym floor!” - I don’t care. But one teacher targeted me for reasons such as “she’s quiet”, but I believe I was racially targeted or singled out. Talking about me to classrooms of students (ones I wasn’t even in), making me present a play early and telling all students BUT ME. Not to mention my given role was a chubby girl with no friends?? Now that was just cruel. Having years of experience at a school does NOT give them the right to basically harass students who aren’t able to defend themselves, then laugh about it with the student’s fellow peers. I felt isolated and my grades and mental health plummeted from there. It wasn’t until senior year of hs that I appreciated education more. I would like to thank Ms. Notriano for giving me a huge interest in psychology and giving me the strength to continue my studies. Because of her, I have a minor in psychological research and am now maintaining a 4.0 gpa while studying for my MPH degree. Thank you, Ms. Notriano.I do not wish for any justice or hate toward the teacher. I just hope staff will support their students the best they can. For any future or current students, please do not hesitate to speak up. And also, consider taking AP psych. She makes the class so much fun!”Other Review1y ago - Check out schools near 236 Rainier Way.

"Lots of open areas to walk a dog but everyone seems to keep their dogs off of their leashes which isn't good for a dog like mine who can get skiddish when dogs run towards him. "
