7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a parent with both current and former students at this school, I must express my disappointment with the staff and the behavior of certain privileged students. If there were a way to elect new staff, I am convinced that many would not retain their positions. The emotional toll on my child who has since moved on to high school is evident, as they now require therapy to cope with the trauma experienced here. While I wish I could afford a private institution to spare my child from this environment, it's unfortunately not an option for me at the moment. The prospect of adding sixth graders to the mix only exacerbates concerns, considering the current challenges the staff face in managing just two grades.Parent Review1mo ago - Highland Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDistrict 58 is becoming a very poorly run school district. The leadership has been making one poor decision after another since COVID started. They are now requesting documents for proof of residency that I don’t have access to. If you have a child with an IEP, they do a very poor job following what is outlined in the IEP. Our family is considering moving out of Downers Grove because of how bad the leadership is.Parent Review2y ago - Community H S Dist 99 - North High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNorth is a wonderful high school! It's fun, engaging, offers a ton of activities of all types, and has many exceptional teachers, administrators, students, and parents as part of the community. They offer many types of classes including many AP for those who wish to be more challenged. The counselors were very good with my child and always addressed her questions and concerns. North's Fine Arts Department is exceptional! We are very proud to be a part of the North community.Parent Review2mo ago - Check out schools near 4225 Saratoga Ave #408B.

"I have lived here for almost 30 years. I love the old huge oak trees and green landscape everywhere. It’s safe, people are friendly and the schools are great. It’s also very handy walking to the end of my block and having the option of walking 1 mile in either direction to catch the BNSF Metra train to Chicago."
