The only reason it has one star is because I had to give it at least one to start this review. I had 2 children in this school at the same time in different grades. We moved here from out of state where my children both had IEP's in place and both had 504 plans that were sent with their transcripts. When they started here In Clinton we were told of course we would have to update them. My oldest then a senior they said "outgrew" his accommodations. How is that possible?? The didn't even set up a meeting for my other child who happens to be bi-racial. Both of them take medication on a daily basis for ADHD, and Bi-polar II disorder. When they both missed a week of school due to a family emergency back in California they were given their makeup work. They had the EXACT same class with the EXACT same teacher. When we returned, they were both given a packet to study for their upcoming test. Both were completely different. The same EXACT test. When asking the teacher she said that was right. When they took the test one had the right notes the other did not. One passed the other did not. The one who did not was my bi-racial child. I feel we received a ton of racism at this school. That child was also bullied and when brought to the attention of the school nothing was done. It was so bad he refused to go to school. So we decided alternative school was a better option at that point. It took 2 months of the end of one school year a 1 month of the next school year to get the referral sent over so he could even start school! So as a sophomore, he has 3 credits and is so extremely far behind he is struggling to catch up. This school is an absolute joke! In my opinion they play favoritism and are racist towards children who are biracial with disabilities. I would absolutely never recommend this school to anyone who wants their children to succeed.

I am a former student from Clinton Junior High School, and I'll admit I had a very difficult time in junior high. There were a few faculty members who were overall incompetent and, in my opinion, should not have been in teaching positions. I also had distaste for the vice principal, who prioritized student absences over their physical health. In all honesty, it's your average American junior high. horrible food, mediocre education, and evidently nonexistent mental health programs. It's not exactly a school district I would recommend, but there are worse contenders.

My 3rd grade stepdaughter transitioned in from Decatur Public. All the staff has been very helpful when it came to making sure she fit right in and got plenty of help when needed. I love all the Teachers here and have been very satisfied with her school year. She loves it here
