A FURNISHED cosy, remodeled business- & student-friendly condo for rent in one of Chicago's safest districts: Edgewater. We are less than 1 mile (walking distance!) from Loyola University. Right off Lake Shore Dr., fits up to 3. Perfect for anyone looking for a long-term rental in a safe, quiet area. Accommodates: 3 (1 bathroom, 1 bedroom), but we prefer no more than 1-2 tenants if possible. The apartment is located right on Thorndale Beach; though we do not have a beachside view, the beach is directly behind our building. The laundry room has a beachside view. Prices: $1,175.00 per month for the whole unit (this includes all fees and utilities of heating, water, and gas but not electricity and TV/Internet--the latter if applicable). No deposit required, but the homeowner's association charges a non-refundable move-in/move-out fee of $400 (total per unit, so if 2 tenants, then $200 per person). Background check is required, per the rules of the HOA. Parking is included in our building for tenants for an additional fee or one of the nearby buildings offers it for approximately $195 per month (also with a beachside view!); there is street parking available for free on the neighboring streets (Ardmore, Kenmore, Winthrop). There is a laundry room available as well for tenants and an optional storage unit is provided for an additional ~$15 per month (optional). Access is to the apartment unit only, as well as the beach off Lake Michigan, which is accessible from the backyard (1 minute walk). You must be a tenant to use the laundry, since it's operated on a coin system to which you'll have access, but the nearest public laundromat place is a 6-minute walk away. There is a CTA bus stop right outside our building. The nearest CTA train (Red Line subway) station is Thorndale, which is approximately 7 minutes away by foot. Whole Foods, Walgreens, and LA Fitness are within a 10-minute walk away, Mariano's is a 15-minute walk away. Edgewater contains several beaches that residents enjoy in the late spring, summer, and early autumn. Chicago's largest park, Lincoln Park, stretches south from Edgewater for seven miles along the waterfront, almost to downtown. The Uptown community is to Edgewater's south, Lincoln Square to its west, West Ridge to its northwest and Rogers Park to its north. Edgewater was first developed around the 1880s as a summer home for Chicago's elite. Today, it provides the northern terminus of both Lincoln Park and Lake Shore Drive. With the exception of pockets acknowledged as historic districts (like the Bryn Mawr Historic District), east-Edgewater (Edgewater Beach) boasts a skyline of high-rise apartment buildings, condominium complexes, and mid-rise homes. To the west, Edgewater is characterized by commercial businesses; single-family homes; and two-, three-, or four-story flats, including the historic neighborhood of Andersonville.
