9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI've put 5 kids through Carterville Schools. Number 5 is a sophomore at Carterville High School. Academically excellent school and prepares kids for college and beyond. Two of my sons played football all four years and every year went to playoffs, one son playing on two back to back perfect 9-0 seasons. Excellent athletics and coaches and excellent office staff. Some of the teachers I didn't care for but my kids did very well in Carterville and it is ranked in the top 50 in the state. Herrin, Marion, Carbondale, Murphysboro and others in the area can't say the same. Winning football games won't get you far in life. But an education at Carterville will prepare you for down the road. Lion pride indeed runs deeper than stripes!Parent Review5y ago - Carterville Jr High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI agree with the last reviewer. This district has excellent schools. We were extremely happy with Tri-C elementary. However, the middle school has problems with bullying. The administration does not seem to be handling the situation right. We were very lucky this year since my son had excellent teachers. We could not have asked for better teachers.Parent Review10y ago - Carterville Intermediate School
