2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a parent AND a substitute teacher at this school I was able to see first hand how the teachers and administration handle things on a day to day basis. Everybody who works here is amazing. Each teacher has their own unique style and an incredible amount of patience. They also share tips with the substitutes and each other to better serve the community. Their arts, music, and gym classes are awesome. They have enrichment classes that serve the gifted students as well as intervention classes to help those who are behind. The best part is that they have creative incentives to encourage good citizenship and behavior. Go Tigers!Parent Review1y ago - Carbondale Middle School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son has only been going to Kindergarten for about a month and a half but this school has already helped so much! He speaks more clearly, he's starting to read, his writing is going great, his attitude and respect has improved exponentially. I'm very proud of him and what his teacher and this school have done for him thus far.Parent Review5y ago - Lewis School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was an employee a few years ago and according to staff I’m still friends with, nothing has changed:Students spend all day on screens with very little pencil-and-paper work (including students with special needs). We can talk about technological prowess all day long but fact of the matter is that these students are not actually learning how to use computers effectively AND they are rarely able to reproduce results on paper (not to mention the incredible eye strain). Students are rewarded for doing the absolute bare minimum while behaving poorly in class. After school you can often find groups of 4/5th grade boys chucking GLASS BOTTLES at traffic.Other Review1y ago - Carbondale Community High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIn my experience, the school permits staff (teachers & principals) to bully & intimidate students. This appears to be supported by the principal, Ryan Thomas. Staff is also allowed to lie to students & parents. Ryan Thomas admits that he will always take the teachers side regardless of what students say & even refuses to investigate reported issues with staff. This is not a good environment for students.Parent Review2mo ago - Check out schools near 510 N Almond St.
