Mrs. Willings, the librarian, does a great job and has coordinated a fun book club for kids and parents to participate in and discuss books. But there is one main reason I only gave it 2 stars.The principals claim that the school has an intolerance for bullying, and that it has an "Anti-bullying policy". The many rules against bullying that this school supposedly has set are not enforced whatsoever. When I try to tell teachers to do something about bullying (many people in my class bully and mock me), they say that they'll do something about it. And every time, nothing happens.This school does not care about victims of bullying, and not only teach us about them in health class, but to not enforce any rules against them.This is actually quite common in the Alton School District.Other Review3mo ago

"There are many activities for families and a strong sense of community. All parks are within a 10 minute drive. My 4 children and I never feel unsafe, or have difficulty finding something to do together. "

"The bus runs right near for someone who needs Public transportation. My commute to work is fairly quick, every once in a while there is a train on the track but other than that. The commute is ok in my book"

"This is a beautiful neighborhood with a lot of diversity. It has character and old fashion appeal. Large homes, duplex and apartments with its originality. The community has survived the worst although the love and spirit of the city is here. Perfectly located in the middle of everything, the smell of Fast Eddies Chicken or fried rice from the Hong Kong house decorates the air. I love it here, it’s safe with the beautiful mixture of people from all walks of life. Like with any city this area has its flaws, yet the flaws is what makes the beauty of it all!"

"My neighborhood has fair to good access to public bus transportation. We can drive very easily to Missouri ( 3 mi. to the Louis Clark Bridge.) and surrounding towns in Illinois. I live in the Middletown area in Alton and love it."
