4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBullying is out of control at this school. Discipline is also not followed through. Academics are wonderful and so are most teachers. They do not have language programs, no Mock Trial Team, or M.U.N. We pulled out child and entered the Cedar Rapids District. All of this was offered and more. Plus, I had a happier child. 4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLinn Mar use to be a school of choice with parents moving to the district so their children could attend one of the schools.. The last couple of years, families have been moving away, open enrolling their children in other districts, and homeschooling. The school board has attempted to implement policies that parents feel are not in the best interest of their children. The board is made up of people who are not leaders and who are disrespectful to other board members and to the parents. They have created a divisive environment. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was extremely disappointed by the education my kids received. By Tuesday they had completed their work and usually spent most of their time reading. By middle school they had no idea how to do long division and were missing basic math concepts. This was despite excelling at Echo Hill and being in the Leo program. I am very disappointed we put so much faith into the school thinking that the next year would be better. All while paying ridiculously high taxes. It was as though they tried something new every year, realized it didn’t work then tried something different. A big concept at the school is reading 1 million words. That is an odd standard to want to live up to when the fast track in middle school is based on math.Parent Review4y ago

"There are plenty of places to walk them be it parks or sidewalks. The only time i wouldn't recomend it is at right around rush hour there are alot of cars around"

"Marion is a fairly safe town, grocery stores and small shops are within a short driving distance, lots of restaurants. Just keep a safe eye on your kids if you have any. While Marion seems like nice side of Cedar Rapids, I have seen in the news that other towns in Iowa and surrounding cities have experienced young women, college girls, teens, even kids gone missing. Always best to stay safe even in nice neighborhoods!"
