5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMrs. Lefebvre has been a great teacher to my son this year! I wish this was the sentiment I felt about the entire school. We are pulling my son who has been here for two years out next year and open enrolling him back to Urbandale where he was previously. The administrative staff are just awful, rude and always make you feel like you are bothering them. The pick and drop off system is time consuming and terrible. Also the way the kids are let out at the end of the day to "find their parent at a designated spot" is negligent and not safe. This school drives for high scores but I think lacks trying to develop the child as the whole lifelong learner.Parent Review9y ago - DC-G Meadows

"Grimes Funtastic Days in June. Small town feel where people are polite and respectful. I teach at DC-G and the area is very protective of their schools, kids, teachers and so on. Big sense of community!"

"A lot of dogs in the neighborhood but there isn’t a lot of barking. All blocks have sidewalks safe for dog walking"

"Grimes is still small enough that if your child wants be s cheerleader or to play basketball they do. I have raised three children here and cannot say enough about this school. People take care of each other here. It’s small town love with big city amenities nearby"

"Every events that happened here makes this community special, and that’s the beauty of it . without this events like live music performances , the community is not able to be special, there will be no unity among people."

"Small little quiet neighborhood. Not much places to walk to or go around. The only stores that’s near are, fareway, Walmart, and dollar general. "

"Grimes has a great small town feel, nestled just outside of the Iowa "big city" fun. With amazing schools and yearly festivals like the Governor's Days Festival in June, you'll find plenty of activities to keep your family entertained. A new YMCA is planned, and more local business are finding their home in Grimes. The Radish and The Corn Patch will fill your belly and your soul with their delicious and comforting food. We almost settled our family in Grimes, and have never taken off our radar for our future home!"

"I moved here 15 years ago when the town had only about 3500 people, it has grown to over 8000 now and I like the slower pace of good people coming into town."
