Description

This property is no longer available to rent or to buy. This description is from January 07, 2022
A cozy 1,056 sqft 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home in an area where properties rarely become available, and on almost 2-acres of land. The main living area has large windows allowing a lot of natural light into the space, illuminating the warm, hardwood flooring found throughout the home. This room can be separated from the neighboring kitchen by the beautiful shoji door dividers. You'll find lots of counter and cabinet space in the kitchen, with a large double sink and a gas range. There is a small dining area off the kitchen that looks out the sliding glass door and over the back lanai, an area large enough to host a small party. From here, and located on the back of the carport, there is a laundry room that would house your washer and dryer, along with a sink, toilet, and walk-in shower, making for a full bathroom. Back in the home and down the hall, you'll first come by the second full bathroom, that would be shared by the occupants of the three bedrooms further down the hall. Each bedroom has ample closet space, jalousie windows to let in light and breeze, and ceiling fans for those still days. The property also has a separate warehouse/garage that can be put to good use again. The grounds have fruit trees including avocado, lychee, calamansi, tangerine, banana, and guava. The total lot size is approx. 1.998 acres, with dimensions of approx. 381.25 feet along Lehualani Pl. and approx. 228.16 feet in depth, according to County tax maps. Located a short distance from Pahoa Village, just a quick trip to all of what Pahoa has to offer, including grocery and natural food stores, restaurants (both dine-in and fast-food), gas stations, banks, post office, public pool & park, pharmacy, and the brand new Puna Kai Shopping Center. The home has access to cable TV and internet through Spectrum, and is on county water. Water heater and kitchen range operate on gas/propane. Property is in Flood Zone X and Lava Hazard Zone 2.

What Locals Say about Pahoa

  • Dianna Kahler
"My neighborhood has terrible commute traffic to town. The highway is only 2 lanes & there is only one way in & out. Needless to say traffic during regular commute hours for school & work can get gnarly. "

  • Harmani L.
"Great neighborhood to walk your dog and get daily exercise, on the other hand of course there will be other dogs barking and so on."

  • Brian F.
"To the town of Pahoa it’s only about nine minutes. For a commute to Hilo it’s closer to 35. Most of the things that we need are within a 10 minute drive. But this allows for quiet neighborhoods and fairly dark skies at night for stargazing. Traffic is usually light except when there is construction. Even when is there is it’s usually only a momentary delay. "

"The neighborhood in general is very excepting of dogs and most people have them. Most people observe leash laws and keep their dogs in check. Dog’s seem to represent a measure of security for the house owner. There are no dog parks per se in this area but plenty of quiet streets to walk your dog on. "
