9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe moved from Atlanta area (Decatur) to Rabun county after touring schools in 9 other counties. With the rapid decline of Dekalb county schools, Rabun county almost felt like an impossibility. After 2 years now, with kids in the high school, primary and now elementary we couldn’t be happier! These schools, these teachers and the administration at the school level (I haven’t interacted with higher level administrators) is unbelievable in this day and age. I have so many teachers in my extended family and they are all shocked (pleasantly) at the Rabun schools and the community engagement . There is only one school for each level in this county due to smaller population, but each faculty is great, clean and modern. There certainly could be challenges with a few teachers and there are episodes of kids acting out but it is a mere fraction of what we have seen in larger city schools. Almost no violence and amazing security with some great officers. I can’t say enough of the care that has been shown to my younger children, one of which is hearing impaired. The school has gone to great lengths to accommodated him. In his past school he was placed with students that were severely disabled, and many that were completely nonverbal. He is high intelligence but has hearing impairment. That requires some attention but he is very able to learn. When we first moved here, we made the decision to hold our younger children back one year due to the massive learning loss during Covid in Atlanta area schools. This school has done anything and everything that could be asked, and my children have shown amazing improvement and at grade level. We are so grateful to Rabun County schoolsParent Review4mo ago - Rabun County Middle School
