5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageJust wanted to take the time the thank the staff of Wilbanks for the level of care, education, and time taken on students. My son is now headed off to high school with a level of respect you have fostered in him. By far the best experience I as a parent had with any teaching staff in Habersham. Thank you for being so involved in my boy's future.Parent Review9y ago - Habersham Success Academy

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHello,I am a former student. I attended Success academy in Habersham Georgia. I am student with an IEP.I’m not here to cause any problems just hopeful that my review can help other students in similar positions.I have done a lot of moving around because i’m in a military family.I’ve been in and out of schools. I’ve always struggled when it comes to academics.I spent about 5 years in Virginia and when my step Dad got deployed we moved back to Georgia. I attended the central Highschool for about two days when they told me Virginia was on a different plan. Apparently the Success academy was newer. We used to live here in Georgia when I was younger (same area) I had some buddies that attended the success academy so I knew it would break the awkward barrier of having to start over again. They told me at Central that they think success academy would be a good fit for me but told me it would all be done over a computer. I explained that I struggled with the virtual setting when Covid hit and that was my big concern. They assured me that it would be fine and that there are teachers there to help with any questions…I attended but realized really quickly it was mainly just another alternative school. We went to school in the same wing as the alternative school kids on many occasions treated like them. This school is great if you intend on going to college but kids with learning disabilities may struggle here. The teachers don’t specifically teach. You sit all day on a computer and any student that was struggling or couldn’t provide enough numbers would be sent to an “Enrichment Room” otherwise knows as the ER room.Through this they make you sit in the alternative class in a cubicle and you get 3 bathroom breaks and you’re not allowed to get up apart from that. I watched many students fall asleep and lose motivation.I watched many friends in similar situations drop out because once you sign your name on the success academy paper you’re not allowed back at the normal high school. It’s a good school if your main goal is to go to a university. For kids that have learning disabilities it may or may not be a good fit. It varies and my situation is very different from others. I urge parents and students to not listen to how greatly portrayed Success Academy is be sure you know everything you’re getting into before you sign your name on that paper. If you are someone who needs a teacher to teach the information to you then it may not be the best fitOther Review4mo ago - Check out schools near 242 Kim Loop.
