3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNo...no...no.... My husband and I went to pick our daughter up from art club today and the back door to the school was propped wide open with nobody near it so that anyone could walk in if they wanted to without being met by someone protecting the kids. Mind you, this school is also in a not so great side of decatur where there are drug addicts and homeless people walking all over the place. There's no security AT ALL. The LEAST they could of done was make sure the kids are safe by keeping the doors locked....so irresponsible.Parent Review4mo ago - Columbia High School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe principal and most of the staff are horrible. This school is filled with messy adults who do not really care about kids. The principal allows the most messy people to have leadership roles which is bringing the schools climate down even more. Do not apply for a job here or send your child here for school!Teacher Review2mo ago - Columbia Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is horrible! My daughter goes to this school and she has been bullied here by not 1 but three girls. She was also threatened. The worst part is the school took no actions and and did absolutely nothing to resolve the issue DON’T GO HERE!Parent Review6mo ago - Check out schools near 3217 Edgemont Way.

"I have lived here since 2017 and I absolutely love this neighborhood. It's quite, friendly, safe and very child friendly. There is never any crime and you hardly ever hear emergency sirens. Every single neighbor has been wonderful and polite except one. "

"Best place to live in DC. It’s a beautiful neighborhood that is urban but not downtown. It’s all about the park and trail, tons of restaurants, things to do, grocery stores, markets, bar. Has its own metro in easy walking distance and a trail that connect you to the east side of the city. "
- Ryan B

"NoMa Bid has been creating a huge sense of community in Eckington and NoMa. For one they keep the area so clean and you always see their workers sweeping the sidewalks, changing trashing, maintenance at the dog park. And then there’s the events, most at the A.T. Park and the MBTrail. Movie in the park, farmers market, holiday events like pumpkin patch/contest, and of course the mural walls festival. The trail and park have beautiful murals everywhere and each year local artist renew most of them. (NoMa in Color). Also the dog parks is a big vibe in the area, Eckington Dog Park is the best in the city, but there are 4 in the area. Also, Bouldering Project is a cool bouldering and fitness gym. Theres tons of grocery, restaurants, bars and beer gardens, etc. it’s surround by Union Market, Brookland, Shaw, H Street… all connect my the MBT (bike/walk trail) and NoMa/Gallaudet Metro Station (subway).
