5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is awful, we had a lockdown the other day because there was a wepon in the school, and we still had school the next day and the teachers shrugged it off as it was nothing, they didn't even mention the fact that we could have died that day. In conclusion, this school is one of the WORST schools that a child could go to. As a student here, please do NOT send your children here.Student Review1y ago - Langston Hughes High School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI rate my experience at this school to be terrible. There are many issues that this school needs to have worked out, mainly academic and administrative in nature. This school isn't that diverse, a 90% black student body is never "diverse" in nature. It is only "diverse" because of the definition that most websites give it, "Percentage of a student body that is not a non-hispanic White".One other issue this school has is having mixed priorities. One example of which is having outdated textbooks (Our history textbooks don't even mention us ever having a black president), and spending 10,000 on Apple computers for the Graphic Design classes (I told you, this school cares too much about its Arts and neglects Stem).Dual enrollment and AP class reputations don't save this school either. The partnered college has its own problems (that are just as terrible), and AP Classes are filled with students that didn't even sign up for them; presumably to make the school seem like its "preparing you for college".I really abhor this school and would never send my children here. Nearly everything that the school should've taught me wasn't taught, and I had to teach myself. A 13 year old kid entering high school shouldn't have to worry about looking into curriculum guidelines in order to even have a hope of passing a standardized test. The curriculum reading is the teacher's job.Overall, the only thing that this school taught me is to not trust anyone with your education, and to take it into your own hands.1/5 starsStudent Review4y ago - Cliftondale Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child have been a student since kindergarten and he is now in the 5th grade. I love the school and the principal they have now. My experience with the teachers has been good as well. I would definitely recommend the school.Parent Review2y ago - Check out schools near 7250 Old Chapel.
