2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school needs new leaders. Many of the teachers are great. Although there are a few that are never there. There was a sub my sons grade for the whole year. Many subs. It looks like teachers are afraid to teach here because it is no fun.Parent Review4y ago - Sequoyah Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is filthy and they do not clean the bathroom and the teachers are disrespectful and belligerent against students one time she 2anted to suspend me for rolling me eyes but I didn’t even roll my eyes like I can’t blink?Student Review3mo ago - Cross Keys High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHonestly, I am currently a junior and I just want to explain why this school is not the right place for students who are looking to prepare for future colleges and jobs. The administrators and teachers do not take effective action, as evidenced by the two fights that occurred today on Feb 7, 2024. This is completely unacceptable and disheartening for me as a student at this school.Take a school like Parkview High School in Gwinnett as an example. They are known for being strict, responsible, and focused on helping students succeed in entering college or future jobs. In contrast, the AP teachers at Cross Keys do not offer re-tests. I am currently taking AP Psychology and have struggled with failing multiple tests with no support or opportunity for improvement. One of my friends from Parkview shared that she was able to improve her scores through review and comprehension, resulting in a 4.0 GPA compared to my 3.6 GPA.The IEPs are somewhat adequate, but I have noticed that when they state "Our goal is for the student to succeed," it feels more like an empty promise. There is a lack of actual support or assistance provided. Instead of actively helping me, I am often given worksheets from basic subjects like Algebra I and reading. It makes me question the seriousness of the support being offered.Cross Keys needs to prioritize student performance and offer re-tests to support student success. Additionally, they should consider adding honors classes to benefit students’ GPAs. With only 13 AP classes available, students like myself are left to struggle with exams like AP Physics and AP Chemistry without adequate preparation. I hope that Dr. Cunningham takes notice of these concerns, as the current school system is simply not working.Student Review2mo ago - Check out schools near 4621 Buford Dr.

What Locals Say about Chamblee

"So many doggos (including our own)! The overwhelming majority have their dogs leashed. I wish more folks would pick up after their doggos, but overall the area is dog friendly. Not many dog specific parks in Chamblee though (I think the closest is Brookhaven). "

"Very safe neighborhood it looks like there’s a wide variety of different cultures which is excellent for growth. A ton of great businesses, from studios, restaurants and retail. "

"We love this area as a family with one dog! There are two dog parks in a one mile radius from us and there are walking trails that our pup can take walks on with us! It is usually pretty shaded so it isn’t too hot in the summer for her paws and she loves getting out and seeing other doggies! "

"All of the heavy traffic that has started flowing through our quiet neighborhood because of the thousands of apartments and retail businesses that have invaded Chamblee - thanks to our developer friendly policies. Once quiet and peaceful - No more. Relocating to Greenville, SC "

"I like the fact that it’s rich in commerce, a lot of places to eat, not far from Marta, but not as hectic as the city. At the end of the day when I’m out and about in the city, coming back to my temporary home here in Chamblee gives me peace and it’s something I greatly look forward to. "

"Good proximity to major roads and highways, 25 min to the center. Used to be an industrial area, so mostly all residential construction is new. Lots of shops nearby."
