I have felt the one on one communication is good between parents and teachers and Apps are a good resource, but notices could explain things better. 3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son is a current student at this school and is on the sixth grade leopards team, he has been constantly complaining about his math teacher yelling at him and his classmates for no reason at all, cussing at students, is very violent, and in all honesty I do not feel safe with my son at this school. And he has been talking nonstop about his math teacher getting a DUI, and yes he is an adult, but there are photos of his mugshot all over the school! 6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe students run the school. There are no consequences for bad behavior. Students don't have to follow the dress code and dress like they're either going to the club or posing for a mugshot. Girls run around in midriff shirts with their belly rings prominently displayed. It's really disgusting. The principal has no control whatsoever over the students. There is fighting, constant disrespect to teachers, and cellphone usage in class. Students aren't given consequences for cussing out teachers or each other; they skip class; they roam the hallways. They just basically do what they want. NHHS was on lockdown several times this year due to weapons. This school could be restored to its former greatness if the adminstration was stronger and would take control. IEPs and 504 plans are not followed at this school.
