4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have two kids at Hawthorne -- 5th and 2nd grade. Both have been there since Pre-K. We absolutely LOVE Hawthorne! I sing its praises every chance I get. The small class size, caring teachers, and amazing principal make this school truly a special place. I am baffled by the review that said "good luck getting special services." Hawthorne is an inclusion school -- the only elementary school in DeKalb that follows this model! They know better than anyone how to support kids with special needs. Both of my kids receive 504 accommodations, and the entire process has been seamless. I'll be a bit sad when my 5th graders leaves Hawthorne next year, but at least we have a few more years with the younger one!Parent Review2y ago - Lakeside High School
