The school has been a real lifesaver. We are informed about when things are happening at school. The teachers are extremely supportive as long as students are willing to do their part. We really appreciate the fact we have an JROTC program. We have meetings once a month that encourage parent involvement, all you have to do is show up and choose to participate. Students have mental health resources available. There are parent teacher conferences held quarterly so one can be aware of what’s going well and what areas one’s student needs help or just needs to step up one’s efforts. The workload is cumbersome when a student chooses to use their classroom time unwisely. Most teachers put their heart into teaching here at Edgewater ; it’s up to students to do their part. The school is proactive in its discipline policy. Most students comply due to this fact. Overall, the school is a winner in my eyes compared to where our family came from.

i was a student at this school i moved schools because no busses came to my new house where i was at so i had to move i didnt really want to move but it wasnt my decision and i dont live that far from the school

In 2009 I submitted a very favorable review; I must express my deepest concerns however, at the present time. There has been a changeover of principals and new policy changes have taken the school from its former policy of being open to parents and the community, to shutting the school away from parents and forbidding their presence on the campus. The morale is very much lower than it was; the staff is still very dedicated but I don't think they are being helped and given the support they need by the current administration. It is sad to see this little community school turned into hard, cold, county school!
