I'm trying to figure out how in the world this school got three stars. The staff is horrible, they walked around like the world owes them something. They are so use to the life style and attitudes of the kids from around that area that they assume all the kids in that school are "kids from that area". The staff talk to the children like they are out in the streets and my child is not use to much of that street lingo (and yes I'm African American).For the parent who posted on May 27, many parents who volunteer have problems with this school. The staff only supports the "popular" kids and by "popular" I mean kids from around that Sapodilla/Tamarind/Downtown area. Most of the staff knows, hangs with or are related to those children they support the most. Trust me there have been many parents who complained to the district and hopefully the superintendent Robert Avossa looks into this school and makes changes.

Overall, my child has been very happy since she moved from bak middle school. Bak is a great school but has a lot of pressure on my child. On the other hand, connistonhas been a very good school for my daughter and she has made so many friends! Really would recommend this school for your children

I noticed that there were no recent reviews of the school, so I decided I would add one. I am a Forest Hill alumni from the class of 2020. There are very few reasons why someone would actually want to go here. One bright spot in my experience was the environmental science academy. The teachers genuinely cared about what they taught and helped to prepare me for college. There were definitely outstanding teachers (like Mr. McCall and Ms. Skowron), but they are few and far between. The school is extremely overcrowded (30 students to a class at the very minimum), which meant working one-on-one with teachers was virtually impossible. The guidance counselors were generally well-meaning, but unfortunately had too many kids to know what to do with them. As some have previously mentioned, there is a great deal of favoritism towards the football team and JROTC, with little attention and funding going towards other sports, arts, and clubs. The leadership is essentially nonexistent and have no idea how to deal with students other than yelling at them and giving them lunch detentions. There was also rampant bullying that was never properly dealt with. Faculty was supposedly going to investigate rampant bullying in the band program, which (shocker!) never happened. The bullying became so bad that many members quit. I have heard similar stories across other clubs and sports. The school was poorly maintained, with over half of the bathrooms being nonfunctional throughout my four years and several lacking stall doors. The amount of issues myself and others had to deal with were not worth the AP/IB/AICE/ honors programs, which are for the most part subpar. The only thing Forest Hill is good at is fostering a culture of indifference. At least the cafeteria food was good.

Village: The Few. The Proud. The Academy. GO TIGERS!! This school is absolutely great. The teachers are also great at what they do.
