7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is a wonderful and much changed public school. The surrounding area and demographics have grown so much in the past 15 years that the schools in this area have as well. So, the VMS today is not VAMS, as it was formerly called before Noth Port schools existed. VMS is the public feeder school to VHS and has the largest student body in this area, despite the reduced geographic areas mentioned above. This also means that they have the most programs available to serve their diverse population. The Arts programs, the Young Marines program, and the programs designed to support ESE and 504 students set this school apart from the local charter schools because of this reason. Also, the teachers are excellent and certified, as it is a desirable school to teach at in this area, and the principal is supportive. Most students find themselves in a grouped team, depending on classes. For example, students on the gifted team are usually grouped together since they have classes together.
