3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI went to Madison from 2019-2022. The level of emotional incompetence from the students, teachers, and admin at this school is on another level. South Tampa elitism outshines anything good I could say about this school and if you have a child who is talented/smart/filled with potential please do not send them here. The STEM program is honestly weakly hidden class segregation and the insensitivity of the kids in STEM should be studied.. What should also be studied is the way the administration and teachers encourage STEM students to put themselves on a pedestal and consistently express their superiority over the “traditional” students- often referred to by teachers/admin as “genpop”, “troubled”, etc. despite being capable children that have been given up on and have zero support system. Despite South Of Gandy hardly being the land of prosperity, parents and consequently children who go to Madison truly believe they were sent by God to improve the world with their presence. If your child is someone with emotional depth they will feel out of place, ostracized, and dissociated from their peers who clearly don’t have parents that actually speak to them and encourage them to have hobbies/interests beyond vaping, gossiping, and bullying those deemed weird. Talking to the vast majority of students there is the equivalent of talking to a badly trained AI. The arts education is lacking severely and extremely underfunded and undervalued, the teachers are clearly stressed, social emotional learning is basically mocked, and the guidance counselors top it all off as a place where motivated and talented minds go to die. Send your gifted child to a school where they will succeed and prosper, NOT Madison.Other Review4mo ago - Blake High School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIF YOUR CHILD WANTS TO ATTEND A UNIVERSITY NOT JUCO- get them out of the AICE program at Blake. This program is tailored to get them Brigth Futures for JUCO without getting them ready for ACT/SAT testing. My girl was enrolled in this program in Miami Dade, we drank the Kiol-aid. Yaay Bright futures!!. She passed all the classes with As and passed all test. But she was not ready for SAT/ACT. The program actually tells the kids that's not important and instils fear in them that they might not pass ACT/SAT. Well her dreams of a good university were shatered. She ended up in JUCO. Which was not bad, but if we had known she would have been taking APs and Dual enrollment that are more challenging and prepare them for college.Parent Review1y ago - Washington Elementary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTHIS SCHOOL DISCRIMINATES! DO NOT ENROLL YOUR KID FOR ANY REASON! THEY ARE SUPER UNORGANIZED, HAVE NO STRUCTURE AND BREAK THE LAW! PARENTS SIGN DOCUMENTS TO EITHER ALLOW OR NOT ALLOW THEIR KIDS TO BE POSTED ON BULLETIN BOARDS, SOCIAL MEDIA OR PUBLIC PLATFORMS. EVEN IF YOU OPT OUT THEY WILL STILL POST YOUR KIDS! WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT. WHAT'S WORSE? IS THAT WHEN YOU APPROACH THE PRINCIPAL SHE WANTS TO ACT LIKE IT'S NOT A BIG DEAL. MY GOD DAUGHTER GOES TO THIS SCHOOL AND MY SISTER SIGNED DOCUMENTS TO NOT POST HER UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES. THEN THE SCHOOL NOT ONLY POSTS HER BUT POSTS HER UNDER AN AUTISM AD !!!!!!!! THE PICTURE OF MY GOD DAUGHTER WAS NEVER AUTHORIZED TO BE POSTED. WHAT MAKES THIS EVEN WORSE IS THAT THE PARENT WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF THIS. ANOTHER STUDENT HAD TO BRING IT UP TO THE PARENT. WHEN SHE GETS TO THE SCHOOL THE PRINCIPAL WANTED TO ACT LIKE IT WASN'T A BIG DEAL AND THAT IT DIDN'T MATTER AND ALSO LAUGHED IN MY SISTERS FACE! THIS WILL NOT STAY THIS WAY. WE ARE CALLING A LAWYER THE NEWS AND WILL REPORT THIS SCHOOL UNTIL SOMETHING IS DONE! THIS ISN'T THE 1ST ISSUE WE HAVE HAD WITH THIS PRINCIPAL EITHER. 1ST PROBLEM WAS WHEN MY GOD DAUGHTER GOT ON THE WRONG BUS AND IF IT WASN'T FOR ANOTHER STUDENT WHO KNEW HER AND GUIDED HER SHE WOULD'VE WENT HOME IN THE WRONG BUS... WITH ALL THE KID TRAFFICKING THAT'S GOING ON WHY WOULDN'T YOU BE ON TOP OF ALL YOUR STUDENTS ON RELEASE? THEN TO ACT LIKE IT'S NOT A BIG DEAL AND LAUGH IT OFF ! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!Parent Review11mo ago - Check out schools near 2001 E 2nd Ave #8.

"Ybor is the best neighborhood in Tampa! So much history and charm, lots of great shops, restaurants, and bars. "

"Ybor gets a bad rap, yet it is the best "neighborhood" I have lived in. The key to that statement is Neighbors....it's very diverse but still a small community with lots of tourists and weekenders. The locals all get to know each other and take care of each other/ watch out for each other. Best community police force that I have ever met and they are very active in the area. My favorite community I have ever lived in around the Tampa Bay Area. Quit feeding into the news about shootings 5 years ago that has long since been disbanded."
