We don't get the proper resources such as books, and materials for the teachers! This school gets more money to help out students and etc but it goes else where but not to helping the students out! Godby is a Athletic School that's why we're always making C's and D's on our school grade because all the students know what to do is how to make a touchdown, make a hoop, or either kick a ball! I'm on my way out of this school! I recommend you learning from a computer or going to a uniform school before i ever recommend you for going to Godby High School! 2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI currently have two children enrolled at this school and have two totally different experiences here. One of the teacher's is amazing. I have been able to connect with her whenever I need to and she keeps me in the loop with everything going on. The other teacher is very standoffish and always seems like it's an inconvenience to talk. Unfortunately for me, the standoffish teacher currently has the child I'm more concerned about (there are some behaviors that I'm trying to curb before they become a issue). My overall perception of the school is it is a good school with room for improvement. The principal and vice principal are kind and easy to talk to. The front office staff is wonderful and always eager to help. The security of the school could be better (students are able to wander around undetected before the first bell rings). Both children have maintained honor status throughout the school year and they are meeting (and in some areas exceeding) the state standards for their grade levels.I honestly wish my husband and I had the financial ability to send our children to a private school, however, I am satisfied with the children attending Astoria Park.Parent Review8y ago

"We are dog owners and feel safe walking our dogs, especially now that Alachua Ave has sidewalks. It would be helpful to have dog waste stations placed in the neighborhood. It might encourage people to pick up their dog’s poop. "

"I've lived in this neighborhood for more than three years and I love it . Folks are very friendly and kind , most importantly , individuals look out for you , considering you being a great , truthful , respectful and dedicated individual along with your family to the neighborhood community. The area Lake Bradford is a great area to live in also , because you have all the shopping centers , schools , and work opportunities surrounding you , within walking distance... "The commute is decent depending on where you are going and the side of town you live on. The city is constantly growing so commutes will becoming shorter in the long run but with this being a college town probably mean more traffic and immature people being in the same place at the same time."

"The neighborhood is too small for anything more than a potty walk for a dog. To exercise your dog you must drive somewhere else. The main road is too busy and has no sidewalk so leaving the neighborhood on foot for exercise is not possible. "
